Fastest SFK Farming Possible

Trust me I know it's not a terribly rare drop.

As you can tell by my achievements I have many rare mounts, many legendaries etc.

My point was it's a little silly to have someone grab theirs on their first run back of 6.0.

There have been several people who have had luck on mount drops etc post 6.0

Kind of too silly to be a coincidence when 3-5 of my friends who have been farming for x for a while have only now gotten their items post 6.0. I'd speculate a generous boost to loot tables. I'm sure it's only a matter of a week or two before people start realizing / asking / posting about how now they're getting their rare mounts that they've been farming for and asking if 6.0 has anything to do with it.
Good to hear, and I know the drop rates are increased first hand because I saw a Shadowfang drop just minutes/hours after you posted yours in the TI chat. Boy did I lose my cool on that hunter, but the experience did give me hope for the future (and others as someone they actually know can confirm it does really drop). Dreams can come true!

Now if I can just get them to take the damn daily lockout off of Sethekk.

So a guy ticketed a GM about the increased drop rates. This is the response he got:

First of all do you think they are actually fixing it or is he just GM derping?

And 2nd: So many people have gotten their Shadowfangs etc in like 20 runs and less, some people have 200+ runs and nothing. I know this is probably just rng, but what if only old characters/accounts (or new characters) are able to benefit from this "bug" where you get zoned into an older version of SFK with increased drop rates?

I just blink through the stairs and end outside at the back of shadowfangkeep. Just have to mount up after finishing and fly to the instance portal and reset and now im waiting for the dam dungeon cd xD

I did that 3 times... I got so pissed that I changed from Displacer Beast to Feline Swiftness

Great guide! I'm leveling a F2P rogue to farm some of these drops. Wish me luck!

Hey guys,

I'm returning to the game after 2+ years away and want to build a twink again. This guide was awesome!

Quick question - I'm assuming a lot of these drops are BoP instead of BOE - how can I farm on a twink for these without going over the level cap of 29? Can I farm on my main and then mail them over? How exactly does it all work?

Thanks for the help!

All the blue drops, SF, Gloom, AB etc., are BoE, except the boss loot ofc.

Might sound like a dumb question, but on the image of the route, it tells you to backtrack. Anyone have a second to explain what exactly that is supposed to mean? thank you!

From my experience, also confirmed by post 6.0 comments on wowhead, it appears you do not get zone drops from chests; only world drops.

I was hoping someone could confirm or deny on this. It has always been true that zone drops could appear in chests so I was hoping this was still the case. I still farm them regardless looking for a drop.

thank you kindly for this information though :)

No problem. For me it was just a feeling as I had not gotten anything significant from the chests. I have gotten plenty of BoE Blues, but all from trash mobs.

So first I checked this thread to see if anyone was talking about this. Then I went to wowhead and filtered the comments by patch.

The next 2 posts I make will be a couple of detailed ones from wowhead.

I began farming for Gloomshroud Armor for my 19 rogue less than a week ago. I am a very experienced mount farmer (I have over 28 rare drop mounts, 228 total mounts to give you a more specific idea of what i mean) and so I figured this would be a challenge I'd take on.

I never count the number of runs that I complete nor the total time. I do, however, have the total number of notable items I've received, including the more mundane total of the wool cloth I've received. I now present to you my item totals for the runs I've completed:

Redbeard's crest1
Band of Purification2
Sentry Cloak1
Silver Linked Footguards1
Diamond Hammer1
Lil Timmy's Peashooter1
Mindthrust Bracers7
Guillotine axe6
Night reaver4
Black malice6
Face smasher5
Witching stave 3
Assassin's blade3
Shadowfang4
Gloomshroud armor 0
Wool cloth 23024

I've averaged it out and it seems that I've received about 75 wool cloth per run, which means that I've run SFK over 300 times now. If I guess it takes about 6 minutes per run, that's about 30 hours of time inside SFK.

Also worth noting is that I've had 2 zone drops, Guillotine Axe and Night Reaver, drop from the horses in the stables. So the horses can indeed drop these zone-specific rare items. Be sure to kill them for every possible drop chance!

I can also say with some good confidence that the chests in the zone do NOT have a chance to drop zone-specific rare items. The only rare items I've gotten out of the chests include the first 6 items on my list. In fact, I got every one of the first six rare items out of a chest. I've received none of my zone drops from the chests. So don't worry about having to use a rogue do to these runs. The chests will not increase your chances of getting a Shadowfang or any other zone-specific drop.
