Weapon Effects and Theorycrafting

iif mok was green it would be the same weapon damage value as cudgel.
Super sick epic cudgel there though I am slightly jealous. No way I am going to spam restart until I get one though haha.
 
So @DeLindsay I think you were the one talking about the epic BC axe with the haste proc (i forget specific) but now i'm wondering if it's even possible to get one at level 20 exactly... just had an epic dagger drop in botanica and it's level 23:

So unless the axe is a world drop and a sub-20 gets it? Not sure how BC loot works yet, but this was looted on a level 20 from a dungeon (botanica). But it's not like a 17 can get in there if it's dungeon loot, so 23 might be as low as this one is.

I didnt even look it up cuz lazy... might be a poor example.

edit- ok i got too curious to stay lazy and i looked it up, it is a dungeon/raid drop so i think we're out of luck on those.

I think the lvl 20 req lvl dungeons all drop lvl 23 req rare items, I did several runs of lbrs for a bashgudder/rivenspike from the rare mobs in there and they are all lvl 23. the dungeon requires lvl 20 as the lowest to enter. But I have gotten world drops in tbc that scale to 20 bringer of death as an example.

@Warglave I was referring to the Singing Crystal Axe and it's confirmed as low as 12 or 14. I have no idea if it'll drop AS Level 20 or not. Granted it's a stupid low drop rate but as many times as I've ran Pens on my 10's you'd think at least ONE would've dropped by now.

I was thinking that too about your LBRS experience, but I got some BoE blues from the botanica and they're level 18 req, and those dropped for the level 20's as well... so i dunno. BoE epic wep is level 23 and BoE blue is 18. :confused:

So i already had another BoE epic drop from botanica, but it was for the 45 runner - level 31 required gun. So... dunno.

That place is ridiculous for trash drops, BTW. I get a green like every single pack.
 
I'm still stuck on how they knew to drop the caster robe i wanted for my level 20 twice now for the level 45 monk.

I finally got my hunter legs on the 57th run... i was running for the mage chest (never dropped) & legs dropped 3 times.
 
at first I thought it was just rare mobs that drop lvl 23 but now idk, wow drops are a mysterious world of ups and downs.
 
@toskosa World drops are just that, Global (based on a particular Zone/Instance/type of NPC). It could take you 1 kill or 100,000+. That means anything of the appropriate NPC type within the specific Zone/Instance can drop that item.

EDIT: Some World drops have also been added to Lockboxes and Garrison loot as well as the BMAH.
 
@Warglave The reason your 45 got a 31 BoE is because the max Level for TBC is 30. Any Character over 30 will get w/e the max Level is for said drop.

EDIT: Clarification: IF your 45 is NOT on Chromie Time then it would get drops at the max Level for the XPac (~30). IF your 45 IS on Chromie Time it would get drops scaled TO your 45, even World BoE's. But then you'd have a rough time boosting your low Level Twinks.
 
This is why I'm keeping at least (1) 49 out of SL so I can still get into Chromie Time, although I have to cheese it until Blizz fixes it. For example, Fizzlebang's Folly has a Level max of ~35 for non-Chromie Time Level 35+ Characters. In theory it should scale all the way up to iLvL 57/58 at Level 49 for someone on Chromie Time. The amount of Mastery it would likely have at that iLvL would be on par with Level 60 SL gear. That is IF it follows every other drop/Quest reward/etc while on Chromie Time so far. World drops are hard to "farm" so there's no way to know until someone gets one.
 
Okay, so I was farming https://www.wowhead.com/item=8244/flawless-draenethyst-sphere to see if I can get a Destiny to drop.

With a level 20 character, I got a level 23 requirement https://www.wowhead.com/item=2291/kang-the-decapitator and https://www.wowhead.com/item=2100/precisely-calibrated-boomstick; as well as many crazy Vanilla rares with req. levels of 20 and 18 from containers

The same items always had the same req. level, but different rares items had different reqs. I can confirm that Legion world drop epics seem to be at your exact level, but older ones like Vanilla and TBC might be [(Your Character level) +3].

Looking to farm with a level 17 now.

The sphere rewards is something I have been doing since wod its pretty handy for grabbing items. I was doing it on my hpally to try for hand of edward the odd if it even drops from that. Not sure what you can get from those loot boxes/bags.

edit- so i just did this, got all blues from the perfect spheres - armor was 15 req and weapons were 17.

Does the proc on Hand of Edward the Odd still work? Was considering the grind but fuck.
