Weapon Effects and Theorycrafting

Enhance is also in this "jackass place" where there elemental abilities benefit more from Mastery and Haste, but their physical attacks benefit more from Versatility and Crit... so you kind of just have to accept you are making a 4 way spit hybrid, or just focus on throwing more bolts/elemental blast or focusing on hitting things.

So dual ef or bust?

Very dependent on class/spec as well as build. I’d like to test elemental blast with weapon damage enchants, but crusader is obv bis for str classes .

+damage, ef and dancing steel all look promising for druid/rogue but I play neither at 20.

This. I'd say if you want to hit things/try to burst somebody down and have big numbers just go Verse/Crit with +4 weapon damage on Mok, and +6 agility off hand... if you want to cast more spells and have things like Flame Shock do its work on multiple targets I'd do Elemental force.

... you specifically mentioned enhance shaman

I prefer ef on sham, even using elemental blast. Try both out as it's preference really. I'd never use agi on offhand but +4 wep dmg and ef is a nice compromise.

I see @JadeFire is rocking much more mastery than I atm, the enh "ele" build sounds fun, but I see that role playing more support.

For Enhance:
I'm pretty sure I'll probably settle on Mok Headcracker with +4 weapon damage main hand and the Blackout off hand with Elemental force.

Desolation gear with all +2 agiltiy +2crit gems... or just keep using random BFA gear with +3 agility gems and nuke people.

For Elemental, i still just do not care what anybody says or talks about its just white noise... Mastery @ 100% or close to it, makes or brakes that specs viability. any amount of intellect gems just do not come even close to Overload procing all the time, especially with Echo of the Elements and Control of Lava. Lava burst always critting and generating almost 2x malestrom beats any other arguments.

***

I just built Resto like i did any other healing spec, big ass health with as much mastery as I can stack.

Hell yeah. Sounds like enhance has enough wiggle room for me to try out. Thanks for the info all.

Hey quick question; does EF enchant scale with enhance mastery?

It does not.

If there is an "enhancement trap" its Haste, I'm not saying that you can't do plenty of damage with a haste build, but unless you are trying to get that lighting bolt down to 1 second with some "rofl BFA/Legion" Haste gear, I don't see the point. Mastery and Verse are just better.

I had 52% in BG haste on my WW for no reason other than to see so I know its possible. I just think you are hitting small and since we are in a CC megastorm it's not as often as you would like.

And also for that matter, the BC gem gear is also 100% not the only thing you can do. It's just the easiest, instead of farming/buying i28 green sets that let you play other ways. I mean 50% crit in a BG is not something you could do in BFA even if you tried.. that to me is super cool, as you can have a top tier build that mostly nobody else is doing.

AP does not raise fire/frost/nature damage as far as I can see.
I'll have to hopp over to my shaman later and check that, because it should since agi is just ap now anyway like how int is just sp now. although I think str still gives parry.

NM you are correct I just did it, it raised flamshock damage by 2 points, and healing surge by 2 points, and stomstrike by 1 point. thanks!

The threads kinda moved on a bit from this but I was curious and so went and got Cudgel on my vet. Unfortunately, no upgrade but even as green, it provides a slightly higher tooltip than non-GF'd artifact weapons. Top pic Cudgel/Blackout and bottom pick is Ilvl 34 artis.

Which, if you were so inclined (I am not), means that rerolling for epic cudgel is probably the move for fury warriors. Or really super duper try-hards want the bis sword/board combo (which in this case I think would be Skullflame and epic cudgel?)

I had an inkling this would be the case. I've wanted to mess around with sword/board arms but not rerolling to do so. Too bad Mok doesn't provide strength.

These are the types of builds I enjoy discussing most :)

rerolling for epic cudgel

Mmmmmmm...... no thanks. I'll take my green one and suffer. ;)

edit- i would however like to see the difference between green and epic. But since blizz wrecked the ilvl system i'm ok.

and of course I have example of their quest to suck the joy out of every single thing I like about WoW...

I have ilvl 41 prot arti and can confirm, sword/board arms is pretty spicy.

Notably, you build rage via auto attacks with a one hander by the same amount you do with a 2 hander... but you swing faster. So you can keep shield block and ignore pain up almost constantly. Colossus smash still trucks but that's really it for damage, sadly. Shield slam hurts but its like 50% of an MS

I actually play arms swapping around 2-hander and sword/board a lot. Weapons swaps being on the GCD now is kinda clunky but its not too bad once you're used to it. You can just roll around in mid like a tanky asshole, building rage, spam stringing, etc and then when CDs are up, swap to 2hander and just delete a healer. Then back to Sword/Board.

I'll probably put them on some heirlooms and see what happens the next time

So the sniper scope on an heirloom seems to work just fine at level 20, dunno wtf was with my artifact losing the damage.

I guess I'll try putting another on my artifact and see if it was just a one-time bug or what, maybe later on tonight.

Yeah i was thinking last night while in bed that rerolling for an epic cudjel/moks and using a phantomblade offhand would be pretty sick as fury.

Speaking of weapons anyone have any ideas for am hpally mh? I was thinking hand of edward the odd but farming one out is going to take a while so I am looking for something easier to obtain for now. I dont have access to the mop soo heirloom or I would probably use that. Right now I am using the sword form the last boss of blood furnace 16 int 6 crit.
