PTR 8.1.5 Ramstein's and many items getting nerfed

Why do I never get over being annoyed by this phrase? If the person that told you knew for sure you wouldn't have to ask.
So they were just guessing with no base. 99.9% of the time "I heard" is total conjecture. Nothing against you Jwl… just irks me. And yeah, I copied one over too and it works just fine. So where did your source "hear" it was getting nerfed?
edit- im seriously asking where, id love to go check what else is getting spread around.

Appreciate it! Before I decide to get 3-4 crafted, is the PPM worth it? Since I am playing arms without Storm bolt, I'd like to be able to get a fair amount of procs to force trinkets
@Warglave some random level 120 in trade chat whispered me claiming it was getting nerfed, as I was looking for a blacksmith to craft said weapon.
Random players (especially, 120s) have no reliable credibility to me. I just wanted to make sure it will hold its value before I bind them to my characters

Gotcha. Well.... I guess that speaks for itself on that topic.
The mace itself took a while to proc for me (only had a DK to test) but then procced on 3 mobs in a row. Seems legit. The mats really aren't so bad either, assuming you already have the rep or whatever to smelt it. I forget, only had one able to.
I didn't mean anything at you, Jwl - you're a great contributer and I value your input. Just that random people never "know" anything, don't bother referring to it, just ask or check yourself. For yourself. You remain completely credible then.
As soon as you add "I heard [whatever]" it brings a measure of doubt to anything you offer, regardless.

edit- checked what I could, I have a toon with a https://www.wowhead.com/item=28057/bonechewer-berserkers-vest gotten in BC and it did NOT scale. Having trouble finding something guaranteed to be from cata forward.
edit2- Ok.... it doesn't look good. I had a https://www.wowhead.com/item=60937/restored-archeus in the bank from Cata and it did not boost up any ilvl when copying that toon over. Pretty certain that's a cata quest completed on a toon geared in cata itself.

This is not a derail it is about 8.1.5 ptr compared to Live 8.1 so no worries.
And the difference in scaling has already been clarified. So live 8.1 (post 7.3.5 obtained quest items) greens are ilvl 57 as well as blues and I think even epics. On the ptr 8.1.5 quest greens obtained post 7.3.5 and onwards will be ilvl 59, and the blues will be ilvl 65 and the purples will be ilvl 71.
Basically any quest items/gear obtained pre-7.3.5 are still keeping its old item wether it being higher or lower than the new item lvl - in other words they are untouched in 8.1.5.
- This is going to mostly be a boost for relatively new twinks (i.e. created after 7.3.5 or having quests completed after 7.3.5) , in case you are using any quest gear of course.
Here is an example:
This item is grandfathered ilvl and was better than the current obtainable which scales like this:
however, after 8.1.5 the newer one will surpass the old one instead and be better.
Just as I thought I had something better than all new twinks, I will from 8.1.5 have something worse than all newer twinks
(or anyone who hadn't completed it until post-7.3.5)Besides, I can confirm everything on wowheads ptr site so far seems about right, so if you for whichever reason aren't on the free-for-all (even without sub) in-game ptr, you can also check wowheads

I can say that I have tested a few and haven't noticed any difference.

yep, ilvl squish.
Edit: actually even if it did have higher ilvl it would barely make a difference now though.
Look at this 100 ilvl difference but not 100ilvl stronger in stats that is for sure xD
