Shadowlands F2P Baseline Guide

Add dreadstones, ametrine, eyes of zul, etc (northrend jewelcrafting and alchemy transmutations!) to your list : +2+2 gems, one transmute per day

also add Dragon's Eyes (JC dailies, some +2+2 and +3 mainstat)

I haven't seen them in any guides yet and they are not mentioned often but they are good gems for f2p player to stock up for when talasite gets nerfed
must've missed this post originally.

i had it up a while ago. then chops told me it's a complete shitstorm of a grind, and i was either too drunk or too high to fully wrap my brain around it/research it. so i just purged it until i feel like exploring it firsthand.

I have never seen a twink using these goggles, is there a reason for that?

Living Steel needs alchemy... So for F2P would be very difficult as will need to switch professions(as it would need herbalism as well) and can't work very well(even if we switch mining to herbalism, will need to stack enough flowers for the alchemy to get to that level to transmute etc.)

For twink should be possible, though, with auction house can just buy the extra mats there, so I don't know there. But for F2P can be very challenging to do stuff with living steel, jc gems etc.

@Jonjonho
Cloth twinks that either don't want to try to grind for their helm in dungeons they can't que for on their own, or can't find someone to run their twink can use the leveled down cog helm as a viable replacement. I've seen 2 across hundreds of random pug groups, so they're rare, but they're out there

Cogwheels:

Sold by https://www.wowhead.com/npc=5519/billibub-cogspinner & https://www.wowhead.com/npc=3413/sovik (vedors in other Capital Cities sell them as well)
You will need to diversify what you craft while leveling Cataclysm Engineering in order to have the odd items needed to purchase the Cogwheels.

I've also never seen anyone with +16 cogwheels. Everybody had +12 gems on their trinket(which can be created by 25 skills in Pandaria Engineering). Did they just not bother or why?

Or is it just to be able to use 2x mastery (or any other) stat together?

I doubt anyone in this bracket is using the pandaria cogwheels because they require a min ilvl of 38...

secondaries are way more important in Shadowlands than they ever were. (due to our gear naturally carrying a higher number in total secondaries than they did in BfA when compared to primary stats that are virtually the same on gear as they were in BfA)

yes, F2P is hard. trust me though: once you've done like 4-5 of these profession swaps, it stop being such a daunting task, especially since you are MOSTLY rotating gathering professions.

the truly optimal route for professions is actually kind of hard to fully pin down because i have been fucking up on almost every step and doing everything the long way. i will need to run an alt purely for professions (so i am not forcing myself to stick with Engineering) to have a proper rotation down, but i'm still stuck on the Chaos Crystal grind for my main F2P. RIP.

True, it can get very grindy... I stopped after the dragonling, focusing more on toy collecting and farming lately... I do like the idea of level 20 with "master of the ways" title, although that would take a while it seems...

I do need engi, though, only reliable way to have something to get to difficult to reach places like Ogri'la, as Darkmoon cannon and other similar stuff just aren't enough for that(blingtrons can help, but its too random).

Haven't found any info on Zone drops that are for 20's
Kun-Lai Summit drop

Has anyone else found similar items?
