What do you do for a living?

Degree in Criminal Justice... but I work in IT ;o)
 
Studying atm to become an electrician. In first year of three.
 
Very awesome, If you have any cool stories from your work please share them. Today a teen mom was in, she is 15, a ward of the state and they have told her to talk to me about financial assistance. My boss is saying the state has to pay full, No discounts. Its really sad that my tax money is going towards paying for medical bills of a girl who has no role models to show her right from wrong.

This was a cool story untill it fell. (Russian forklift driver in my previous job, nobody was injured.)

I feel really lucky to live in Canada, where the tax money goes towards paying for everyone's healthcare, regardless of social standing.

I feel the same way about living in Denmark, and i also love hearing about Americans complaining about their taxes, when they pay so little anyhow. :)

Anyway, i'm currently studdying, while i work at a place called "Forbrugerrådet" in danish, which pretty much means consumer's council, which is a huge independent coorporation in denmark, which helps secure danish people when they buy stuff, to make sure the merchandise is top dollar and also help people who's been cheated, by for example giving them free lawyers for leading a case against the cheating producers :)
 
I am a junior in high school, but I will be getting my masters in finances or financial engineering
 
God it feels like Im slipping with this thread, I didnt figure you were that young Threesets, its cool you are already trying to make money and strong investments. Seems like Financing would be the right field for you

Ok here is what is going on at my job, Its been rather slow with helping patients, so I began helping the other parts of patient accounts. Its gotten to the point where I am working 13 hours a day "not" doing my actual job, Its kind of nice doing something different but then again I really shouldnt have to do this.

Well Obama tried to implement something like that, he got stopped bye the huge Insurance corporations though and made it different that if you dont have insurance you gotta pay more in taxes for state aid.....
 
What is there nice to talk about? In my previous job (not current one) I had to deal with every scum in society, deal with suicide/death and the aftermath of major trauma and crime.

It is not an exciting subject matter, trust me.
 
Yes but its a proud job to have, not everyone can do jobs like that. Remember every job is there for a reason, there is a reason why you are being paid to do that work, its important one way or the other and at the end of the day......your the one that can do the that job where others cant.
 
Alrighty here's a story:

I teach English (as a foreign language) in China. This week we're talking about travel in the United States, so I showed them some bits of Stephen Fry's America. He visits a Fortune Cookie factory in San Francisco, and I explained to them that even though they've never heard of Fortune Cookies before, in America it's a generally accepted fact that they're a Chinese food.

The looks on their faces were priceless.

i saw a documentry on netflix about chinese influence on american food culture. the fortune cookie originated from japan if i recall correctly. dont remember the name of doc right now.
 
Now that would be a job that would be interesting, I personally only know English, have no intentions of learning another language unless it's a dead language such as latin. But the idea that your teaching in general is nice :)

It is a pretty awesome gig, we only teach up to 16 hours a week (this semester I teach 14) and we get reimbursed airfare to and from the US, an apartment, utilities+ internet, and enough of a salary to live off of comfortably with some travel mixed in.

So I pretty much get paid to speak English for 4 hours each day and then play wow. :eek:
 
haha, I tested video games back when PS2 first came out.....there was alot of guessing involved
 
I almost took a job mining everyone I know suggested against it, Still would be making mroe than I am right now but I am not one to care so much about money. Good respectful work though. If you could change anything about your job what would it be?
