You need about 100 concurrent viewers to get partnered with Twitch which lets you play ads and keep a portion of the revenue from them. (About per 1000 viewers per ad I believe)

To get a subscriber option you need about 2000 concurrent viewers consistently and you keep half of the 5 a month, the other half goes to Twitch.

As of last night he was only at about 40 followers so that's still a bit far off at this point.
