Based on that and since I don't trust Blizz to fix shit, I think it's safe to say we should all Level Toons to the exact Level in prep for the squish and re-lock XP BEFORE Pre-Patch just in case.
 
i’d love to hear general consensus on convo above, i’m in the same situation wondering what i should do; i was MIA for a couple months.

i’ve read this entire thread but seems like everyone is unsure, only thing agreed on as far as leveling is to park a toon near the level locking npc before prepatch.

the thing is, you dont have to worry about it. You can get all the content regardless of whether or not you use chromie time. You just have to walk into dungeons as opposed to using the que finder. Stuff like that. Your completed quests even carry over from chromie to not-chromie phases.

Im actually unsure why they even bothered with "chromie time" unless theres some difference up at higher levels.
 
My point was, that I'm interested in being capable of Que'ing for Dungeons on my 10's, as example, so I thought based off of previous findings that it would behoove me to level to 20 (so that I'm 10 again for Pre-Patch), have my XP locked before the Pre-Patch and that way there's no ambiguity as to what I will or will not have access to going forward. I already knew, since I have Beta, that you could access the bread-crumb Quests to different XPacs via the Warboard.

I don't think you're correct. In preparation for a squish, I leveled a paladin to 47 incase the new f2p limit was 20. I locked my exp and have been doing queued dungeons with levelers who are leveling up during the dungeon while I am locked.
 
I have not played the actual game in "several" expansions. What do we need to do to unlock wrath/bfa eng? do we just get the mats and hypothetically will be able to learn whatever on our 10? or do we need a 120/60 to do something?

[doublepost=1601949346,1601948360][/doublepost]hmm so i just checked again and with xpon got insta que. turned xp off took 6 min to get a pop, but it did indeed pop so i guess it is just like a low prio que and i had bad luck, it was kinda late when i tried(wanted to get brewfest trinks just incase) but i will remove my previous posts

Yeah, see ... I *think* that's what I mean, but that assumes the process of logging in on patch day is equivalent to a character copy to PTR.

I am levelling my 19s to 43/44 and locking XP *before* the patch. And likewise, my 29s, I am levelling to 76-79 and locking now. Because only the characters that were locked when I copied them can reliably access Chromie Time with their XP locked.

There are some other advantages in this, mostly for the 29s. They can buy G'eras gear on live, which then scales to a higher item level than the versions they can buy after the patch. And any dungeon blue gear they get in the high 70s seems to get "squished" to item level 34, which is the same they would earn from running dungeons after the patch. Quest rewards, as well.

Woah. @ the developer comment on 20. Wonder if the devs could still be tipped off on that as potentially unintended lmao.

whats bis in the absence of shatt/ black empire gear and dungeon drop oversights? All I think should be patched

now arrrgh do i sub now and get my 20s to 40 for the epic mount or do i stay unsubbed to make my dh... i guess the dh will be able to make it to the xpoff vendor before 20 postpatch..
