People twink to get an ego boost. That’s why I started out twinking. I was dog shit at max. I figured let’s make a 19 go 30-0 and think I’m a god. It worked. I still twink to this day but now it isn’t an ego boost it is just boring. I think twinks build an ego and are too afraid to “lose” it. 20 people on not 1 person wants to 2v2 3v3 or 5v5 wg not even response. Just silence. I don’t know if twinks are afraid? Is it a horde thing? We went on alli toons asked the community and within 30 minutes we had 5v5 WSG rolling. It was great but of course it fell apart. There were only 2 thinks on the alli team that wouldn’t mind losing and stay. Because it was fun win or loss. Alli team kept falling apart because twinks egos get hurt. They expect to win and when they don’t they cry. Just like at max. You get a random dps you lose 1 game they say your shit blame it on you and leave. Yes I do have an ego and I will admit it. I feel I have earned it. I have high exp at max and consider myself an above average player. But people that are complete dogshit think they are good. They lose 1 WG think wow these guys suck and goes back to farming levelers. Chances are they don’t want to WG with those people again and well there’s 1 less player to WG. People just need to get over themselves about losing. New people expect twinking to be easily and to steam roll everyone cause they are 2.4k at max. I’m 2.6 exp and I will gladly admit I am not the best. Being good at max definitely shows your a good player but twinking isn’t the same.

@SleepyShamann that isnt why I twink. I was introduced to twinking before I was endgame - My older brother got me into 19 late TBC and since, its been my priority focus in this game. The wargames were fun tho, I wanna get more today

Okay, haaaaang on. I wouldn't call the efforts that grew out of the XP-off dark ages a "miserable failure". A lot of terrible work had to be done, but half of that was us fighting issues Blizzard created, and daggone if people didn't experience some amazing games and make some good friends in the process. To be sure, I doubt people would repeat that work if we got segregated again, but I think that misses a larger point.
Competitive twinks were glad for the segregation, because they wanted competitive games. Then we found out the dirty truth about twinking: most of us aren't much better than our XP-on counterparts. No, really, we're not.
All these complaints that levelers have about twinks, including 5p pugmades and unfair advantages? The same thing happened in XP-off queues. A majority of twinks wanted to play with their model cars, and a minority wanted to race. The minority crushed the majority in games. Games ended.
I loved XP-off games, and spent a considerable amount of time and effort to help make games happen during the segregation. But the biggest problem we could never overcome was this differing motivation.
@jwl I hear what you're saying about wanting to get more competitive games and flush out the casuals. I'd support another segregation to see if we have what it takes to lift brackets up. But there are a lot more casuals out there than you may realize. We're talking at least 80%, and I'm one of them. I'm one of the most completionist gearers I know, but when it comes to actual PvP, I'm middle of the road. At my peak I was easily a top 10% RBG'er, but I left those days behind. Many of the veteran players here will tell you they did the same.
I said it years ago and I'll say it again: the difference between casual and competitive twinks is significantly greater than the difference between the average XP-on player and the average XP-off player. As @Chops said, segregating twinks will likely yield some great games at first, but the increased organizational effort involved will kill XP-off twinking, leaving XP-on exploitation. I'm fine with "great games or no games", but we can find better options.

I remember in middle school, playing dodgeball in gym class.
All the jocks tried to get me out, but I would execute a sweet backflip and catch every ball midair.
I was duckin, I was weaving, I was dodgin. The crowd was chanting Jwl so loud, and I was full of adrenaline.
Before you know it....Everyone was out. And I celebrated my victory.
But before I got to kiss the hottest girl of my choosing, I realized there was 1 opponent left - The girl in a wheelchair. And I didnt wanna be that jerk to slam a wicked fastball at the handicapped kid, so right before I bashed her in like a rat, I let her hit me, and I was out.
Sometimes, you have to let the losers, be winners. And that is exactly what I had to do tonight.

it will never happened again .. and yes, the total number of players been halved .. and there is no way blizz gonna ever bring the population back up to that critical mass to split these 2 groups .. it will stay the way it is now .. but at least blizz has done something, they tried to narrow the gap between twink gears with the new green gears for lower lvl brackets .. reducing the OPness of twinks, but not to the extend of removing it completely

As we all discuss the relatively stupid idea of separate brackets with VOC 2.0 whose brain also hasn’t physically developed enough to realize it’s just wrong....let’s not forget that this started because he falsely declared himself a spokesperson for the twink community when asking for the brackets to be separated.
This isn’t just a conversation with some guy who needs his brain to finish growing - it’s a repudiation of someone who is actively trying to destroy twinking whether he is smart enough to realize that or not.
