19 Quick Start Gearing Guide [BfA]

Hey I think you are missing Mark of the Claw on the neck enchants, I have been testing between Mark of the Satyr and Mark of tge Claw on my Warrior and Satyr does around 130 damage while Claw gives me +9 Haste and +9 crit for 6 seconds, its almost like having a 3rd ring for a moment, I am more a into stacking as much stats as posible so I like that one better than a random weak bolt sometimes.

I should probably at least include it in the enchants section, but I'm not sure which classes/specs might actually want 9 haste/crit over the proc. The only one I can think of is maybe fury warrior? Guessing everyone else would prefer straight up damage. The haste might increase the proc rate of elemental force enough to be significant if you're dual wielding it, so maybe survival hunter? I think rogue would still prefer the proc for burst damage.

I don't know them all but I can note a few notable consumables:

Mobility:
Goblin Glider Kit
Swiftness Potion

Party Buffs (only work within your party group):
Alliance/Horde Battle Standard ( +15%HP )

Raid Buffs:
Drums of the Mountain -- or other variants -- ( 25% Haste , !!Exhausted debuff!!)
Battle Flag: Phalanx Defense ( 15% damage reduction )
Battle Flag: Spirit of Freedom ( CC Reduction )
*Battle Flags do work in normal BGs, not sure if in wargames as well

* These scrolls count as battle/guardian elixirs depending on stats; therefore they cannot be used alongside the elixirs.
Scrolls are a cheaper alternative and can be used on other players.

Battle Elixir:
Elixir of Giant Growth ( 6 STR / Size growth )
Elixir of Minor Agility ( 5 AGI )
Elixir of Wisdom ( 5 INT )
Scroll of Strength II ( 4 STR )
Scroll of Agility II ( 4 AGI )
Scroll of Intellect II ( 4 INT )
Scroll of Versatility II ( 4 VRS )

Guardian Elixir:
Elixir of Minor Fortitude ( 48 HP )
Scroll of Stamina II ( 4 STA --36~ hp )

Food:
Curiously Tasty Omelet -- or any variant -- ( 5 STA . 5 VRS )
Fancy Darkmoon Feast -- feast -- ( 15 VRS )

-----------------

Other:
Organic Discombobulation Grenade
*Throw to create 5 sheep that will polymorph enemies that come in contact

F.R.I.E.D.
*Bomb that deals around 400~ damage

Target Dummies
*These will taunt hunter and warlock pets to attack it, as well as occasionally cause players to target the dummy when initially used.

I'll post more after work

Food: Raptor Punch: +3 Intellect -4 Stamina. Can only be obtained once per character via Ratchet Quest. Often appears on AH.

EDIT: For full Glass Cannon.

For the enchants, for example Shoulders it says BoA only, but i've seen a guy with shoulders from SFK with the enchant, how does that work? Is that like some "GF" thing that worked before?

when blizzard nerfed nethercobra leg armor for 19's , enchanted legs could still be equipped but the enchant didn't work anymore, maybe this is the case

It is probably using the same latency trade bug that's used for a lot of other enchants.

Martin is right. It is using a lag exploit when trading to apply enchants by trading gear. It is NOT included as part of this guide, as it is definitely an exploit. It has been in game for a while and there are various threads about it, so it isn't secret - but I don't condone it or consider it for BiS.

What would you say is BiS for Balance druid atm when its comes to shoulders and legs, enchants etc. You need leggings of fang for the set bonus obviously, but is there any enchant you can get for them? And what about shoulders? Is it Heirloom+enchant that prob is bis atm? Cheers!

For new twinks without grandfathered gear:

BoA shoulders w/ haste (ex: http://ptr.wowhead.com/item=122377?bonus=0) with one of the 2int or 2SP enchants (probably with +1 verse or haste). See here for which enchants give that.

Legs you would want Leggings of the Fang. Without using the trade exploit, you can only really enchant them with +1 armor with a basic armor kit (meh).

If you have grandfathered gear, then maybe talbar mantle or you may have enough grandfathered pieces to be better than the fang set, but you would need inferno robe and at least one other really strong grandfathered piece IIRC.

Hello, I made a Balance druid, but have some questions about ench. Is it better to make Ironscale Leg Armor and Glove Reinforcements on boes, or get full snake set from wc with other ench? Bcs seems like its impossible to use these enchs on snake set pieces, if it possible, tell me how pls.

Just had this drop form an SFK chest, wondering if Lambent Scale Cloak better than Sporid cloak for Strength users? A little loss in stam and vers for some more raw str. Character link to item

Lambent scale cloak is an option, but most str users get lots of str from crusader, so are less worried about getting max str at the cost of more balanced stats. I should porbaly add it though, at least to fury which really likes haste.

Would https://www.wowhead.com/item=10048/colorful-kilt not be considered BiS for all cloth casters?

It's solid and I probably should add it. The BoA legs with enchant have the same int, but have haste/crit instead of verse. The BG crate legs are also good. It really depends how glass cannon you want to go.

Go with the WC set. You CAN get glove reinforcements on the gloves as they are BoE. Mail them to a high level to apply the enchant before equipping them.

For mages i have also found scaled Mindthrust bracers with better stats(imo BiS), Also feyline cloak seems to be very good (BiS ?) . Also the BG boots with +5 vers are better than the spider silk boots, i have tested this.

Here is my armory for reference: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/kazzak/arcanekîng
Also i wouldnt mark haste as being superior to Crit. I dont think this is the case at all.

First of all the average DPS is the SAME. Tested this many many many times.
second, Crit provides more value for mana compared to haste (OOM mage = useless mage), This is the main reason i run crit.
Third, having unpredictable burst helps you burn down those healers (monotone damage is easier to counter)

Open for discussion ofc

Doesn't haste give you mana regeneration as well though? Plus I would think it makes hot swapping target a little faster, with the lower gcd and stuff. easier poly morphs etc.

On another crit topic, I'm gearing a destro lock right now with straight crit no haste for the increased chaos bolt damage, it feels so awful trying to cast stuff with 0 haste, fears feel like forever so does trying to get a well timed spell off to burst someone. Its making me reconsider going to the otherside of haste. Obviously a different class but I want to see what people think about it.

Just remember that crits are 150% against other players, so it won't hit as hard as the tooltip will state.

I think Feyscale Cloak is not as good as Cape of the Brotherhood as 3 vers will beat 1 int for pure damage and provide you with additional stats, as well as damage reduction.

As for the bracers I would agree they are probably BiS but I believe the higher ilvl version is GF(?). But only marginably better than a 4 versa 1 crit/haste BG bracers.

However, for a pure damage output I suspect the +7 int Bright Bracers offer more raw damage output.
