Jamesb's 19 Vanilla Gearing Guide

That's because Cruel Barb has a lower Swing Speed, it's nowehere near as good as Shadowfang. For every 10 DPS your character has Cruel Barb will get 28 extra damage on a swing, Shadowfang only 27. That's what's causing your difference. (That said with any test or addon I use, Shadowfang still has higher maxdamage and it seems you'd need at least 70DPS for that to change)

I realize this, I'm just saying its a good second choice for the twinker who's still searching

After receiving multiple complaints regarding errors in this guide, I've decided to give this thread a 'Not Updated' prefix for the time being.

Just want to give my 2 cents as a lvl 19 warlock player. I just see all this hard casting gear in this list and it is not something you should focus on with gearing a warlock tbh. Treebark, Mindthrust, Magefist, Kellers, Darkweave, Sanguine, Viridian Band of the Eagle, Lorekeeper's, Evocator's is only a good option with a bad premade team. As a warlock you want to focus on maximum stamina and maximum spellpower as your base. Intel gear is, just like I said, a good base for a bad premade team or very very very long heavy battles. You really need to ad 8sta chest, 4/4 belt, 5/5 legs, 6sta boots too. Your first set should be stamina orientated, 2nd set full ssp and 3rd set intel for those very rare battles.

The warlock talents arent really what you're supposed to go. You want five into the stamina opposed to hit rating talent.
This counts for pugging but if you do premades you go with the hit rating talents.

About the Medicine Pouch; it worked up till patch 1.10.

as a brand new lock player I can say this is sound advice. I don't lose damage by removing intellect for the most part and stay alive longer. my most success has come from using mostly +shadow damage gear and stamina gear. Bloody Apron in SFK is +8 stamina and easily farm-able.

Yo what are the prequest for Screecher's belt? I cant get the quest from the NPC

What's everyone's opinion on Warlock weapons?

Nightwatch + Furbolg right? I have an evocator's that I'm holding onto as well, but i'm wondering if i even need it (as stam is supposed to be more important for locks right?)

Questions regarding fire mages: In what patch are they going to be viable? Anybody has the best gear & talents for 'em? I'm kind of getting bored with frost lol

Thanks!

One thing I see dagger rogues at 60 doing is superior striking on their mainhand dagger. Is that something that's worth it for twinking or is the 15 AP and 1.97% crit better?
