Seems someone on A AP managed to put a pw on 'f2ptwink', 'f2ptwink6' and even 'f2ptwink7'. Who does this?! Lol.

A pally named Damagesponge did the main channel this morning, even took the time to level to 18. Must have no life.

Well he'd better roll some more characters, there's a limit on the number of channels a single character can join, so we still have over a billion ftptwinksomethings we can make use of.

And even then I could have the addon pull the names of all the level 20s without guilds from /who, and then add them to the friends list if they've been seen before in the channel. The only problem is it would take longer for it to notice someone has come online, as I can't have the addon run /who queries endlessly.

I have a proposition Yasueh
Instead of allowing ppl to join /f2p chat channel from lvl 3 the limit should be raised to (at least) lvl 10. imo it should be @ lvl 20, but then again, maybe some ppl group up for dungeons and bg's while leveling to lvl 20.

By doing this we'll get less spammers and chat stealers, since I see we encounter them @ regular basis.
Leveling to lvl 10 is 1 hour of work (if even that) and leveling to lvl 3 is 5min of work.

Last guy I know did it is now a 20, keeps getting back into channel, when I play ally I tell channel mod to ban him, sometimes they don't ban.
People have to put some effort into protecting the channel.

This. We've always had the ability to protect the channel, and we now have the ability to switch to any channel we want to. Throw a comment into the friend listing of 10ish frequently-online players, and you'll always have someone to /w to figure out what the channel is.

As far as I am concerned, channel passwording is solved with 1.2.7, and would probably go away if people would just join the new channel without complaining on TI and in the new channel. Trolls fuck with people to revel in the misery they cause to people they hate. They no longer have the ability to actually harass us anymore, so the only thing feeding the trolls is all the bitching ,

Side note @yasueh: I'm getting a lot of whisper spam inviting me to guilds since upgrading to 1.2.7, did the feature blocking incoming whispers with the word "guild" go away entirely, or is it just off by default and idk how to enable it?

Yeah, 1.2.6 was blocking all whispers from anyone not on your friends list, which was fine for most F2Ps, but not so good for anyone who wanted to get whispered.

I'm pretty sure there's already an addon like this out there - I remember using it on my 19s.
Though you weren't able to create proper teams, it would just keep a personal rating for your 2v2/3v3/5v5 fights.

I'll do a bit of research to see if theres an updated version and I'll let u know.

Edit: That was Epeen and it died with WotLK :(

I knew something like this existed, hence why I asked Yasueh if it was possible to update or tweak it a little bit for F2P into the addon. Point is it will take him loads of time which doesn't really reward him something. Too bad :) Would have been fun to have.

Tbh... I have some spare time and if you need it just to keep your personal score and maybe include a couple of made-up achievements, it wouldn't be so hard to make. Thing is, it is best if it's part of the f2paddon; it will be simpler to maintain, update and distribute. So try getting Yasueh's attention but if he doesn't have the time for it, I guess I can help you with it.

Worth mentioning, arena ratings are just ELO ratings. While an addon would obviously be very user-friendly, if you guys are serious about doing ratings you could start a thread for it and do the calculations by hand.

It would also be nice to have it in-game though. Given the nature of our arenas though, it might be strange to have ratings. I think it's a good idea but not sure how it should be implemented.

Hi Yasueh, a bunch of us have recently scrolled our old p2p accounts.

Whenever I do Tol Barad, which is not a battleground, people can still whisper me for invites, and if I have forgotten to turn off the addon, then it kicks me from the Tol Barad raid. I was wondering if you could remedy this by perhaps turning off the addon whenever you are on the tb peninsula.


Anyways, not a big deal, just a tiny pet peeve. <3

Fixed in 1.2.8 (once curse.com approves it).

Can I go back to playing RIFT now? ;)

Anyone have a copy of Yasueh's old XP addon that pops up messages if your XP is on?
