F2P Addon

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Make sure you're putting the folders within the f2paddon in the addons folder separately.

Copy all folders within the addons folder into the interface/addons

This should make it work.

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Didn't work....i guess ill just continue my lonely existence in PuG's....

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

I don't get why it's not working for you. Tell me exactly what you're doing!

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Did you join the chat channel in-game?

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Okay BIG problem
One of my real life friends has been trying to send me tells and they just don't come through. The way i noticed this is through tukui giving off the whisper sound when I received whispers, yet i would see none. It never occurred to me to add him to my friends list for a while. When I did, the whispers came through immediately.

The problem is not with my other addons, but the free to play addon. Please look into this Yasueh

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

The whisper problem has been going on for a month, I still can't get them on my p2p and noticed others having the same problem.

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

I'm getting close to a 1.2.7 release, the change log of which contains the following so far:

1.2.7
* The /f2pi command now correctly disables all of the F2PI functions, so F2PI won't be automatically closing raids you'd like to form when it should be disabled.
* F2PI now also counts guild members as people not to send warning messages to when they send you whispers.
* F2PQ entries for a player will now be removed when they leave the channel (log out/DC/whatever), so the /f2pq reset shouldn't be needed any more, unless you want a clear window for your groups.
* The default behaviour for whispers from people who aren't on your friends list is no longer block.
* Supports localisation. If you'd like contribute please edit a renamed copy of the f2ploc.enUS.lua file as far as possible and post it's contents as a ticket on the addon's page at curseforge.com (what's really needed is files with the correct localised names for WSG and AB, as those are needed for /f2pq to work with different languages).

I'm also considering some changes to the way f2pq works, to make it easier for premades to queue (no more countdowns, people saying leave or pop when they shouldn't, and joining when they shouldn't):
* Players could set a player as the premade leader, and they'd automatically queue solo or queue their party when the leader does, and also leave queue when the leader does (would require a '/f2pq leader playername' command).
* The enter/leave queue dialog box could be hidden on the screens of group members, or solo queuers who have set a leader, until the leader has accepted the pop, to prevent people from entering a BG prematurely.

Sounds good. Yasueh for president

Wewt! No more raging on idiots!

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Thanks for the update, Yasueh! You are really keeping this community alive. There were 60 people in chat on Horde side yesterday during the fishing tourney. One suggestion which seems like you are already contemplating: simul-queue functionality with f2pq. This would alleviate the need for a p2p for BG groups, and may also help reduce queue times. On Alliance side I find that group queueing causes longer queues, and also increases your chances of matchup vs premade 24s. When I single queue I am rarely pitted against premade 24s, and queues pop more quickly.

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

I need some help I finally manage to get the new addon (had to download firefox) but its not updating my friendlist on the character I had made before the new addon ,I thought it could be that my friendlist was full so I removed everybody but that didn't help either. The friendlist updates and I can talk to people though when I make a new character.

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Make sure you don't have any old versions of the addon installed, as if you're running 2 versions they can conflict with each other.

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Couple ideas in wake of recent channel issues:
Channel scan - if there is a password on the channel, then try the next one, f2ptwink, f2ptwink2, etc
Automod - automatically make selected players mods when you are the owner

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

1.2.7 has been uploaded to curseforge.com, and is just waiting approval before it's made available for download.

1.2.7
* The /f2pi command now correctly disables all of the F2PI functions, so F2PI won't be automatically closing raids you'd like to form when it should be disabled.
* F2PI now also counts guild members as people not to send warning messages to when they send you whispers.
* The 'raid' command has been removed, because too many were using it when they didn't need to (and keeping me from doing quests ;), and because there's really nothing to do in a raid as an F2P

* Supports localisation. If you'd like contribute please edit a renamed copy of the f2ploc.enUS.lua file as far as possible and post the new contents as a ticket on the addon's page at curseforge.com.

* F2PQ entries for a player will now be removed when they leave the channel (log out/DC/whatever), so the /f2pq reset shouldn't be needed any more, unless you want a clear window for your group.
* F2PQ should now work for those with clients that use French, Spanish or German for the interface language.

* The channel that the addon uses for chat can now be changed for just the realm/faction that you are logged into, by using the command '/f2paddon channel newchannelname' (This will also cause the game to leave the currently used channel). You must give the /reload command to make the addon switch to the new channel, and may need to set one of your chat windows to display text from the new channel.

* Default behaviour for whispers from people who aren't on your friends list is no longer block.

So 1.2.7 doesn't make it possible to auto-leave the queue if the leader of your group leaves, correct?

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Seems like 1.2.7 was just in-time for the Horde channel takeover.

I thought of an idea which I'm sure must have crossed your mind. With 1.2.7 we have the ability to change chat channel, but what if instead we could join and leave channels. This could also give us the ability to setup private chat channels with our friends/premade, without having to form parties or leave the main f2ptwink chat.

Another idea: use channels for simul-q. Players could enable simul-q per-channel, allowing the owner/mods to join and leave queues for them. This would allow flexibility in simul-queuing with everyone or just a select group of players.

Keep up the great work. I know everything takes time, and you should prioritize features how you see best.

Re: Yasueh's macros and addons for F2P

Would it be possible to make an arena rating addon or something? As Purse said before, there is no real reason to play arenas for some since you don't really get a "reward" out of it. Maybe putting up a rating system, it will drive people to play more.

It could be classified on an individual char or a full team.

Thanks in advance!
