Too bad you boys are not on ps4, I moved to ESO a couple of months ago. Not really looking for a MMO, but rather to scratch my Elder Scrolls itch (best high fantasy setting IMO).
After clearing Morrowind content I decided to finally do pvp (at around level 25) and I was instantly hooked, for a game that is so casual friendly, the pvp is way more interesting than any other MMO I've tried.
Someone asked if you can twink, while you can't turn xp off, you can craft gear that will give you a great advantage, enough to carry pretty much most games depending on your spec. However, you won't be the only one doing it as people who are leveling and understand how the game works would have crafter gear as well, in which case your advantage comes from knowing which sets benefit your spec (or whatever niche you choose to play) and farm/craft them.
The difference between level cap bg and low level bg is huge, I was not planning on twinking until I realized how low the TTK is for level cap. Low level bg has a better pace and allows for more strategy, for comparison: ESO level cap bgs TTK = WoW 20s bracket as an outlaw rogue with grandfathered engineering. ESO below 50 bg is very similar to WoW 80s bracket.
That being said, level cap bg is still very enjoyable, it also has more skilled players (which is always good). However, bad players can easily be carried by their gear, its just a different game.
Just don't be a dick making a full premade on below 50 pvp, if you ever plan on twinking.
