80 DK twinking - Some thoughts, plans and showoff

5 hours of wiping. best try.

naga. gives expertise hard cap, so no parry at all -> 7.5% dps increase from soft cap. still experimenting

Soloed Kael'thas (the Tempest Keep version).

That boss is pure RNG hell compacted into a single encounter. After countless hours of wiping across the past couple of months, I finally got him into his last phase for the first time, which resulted in a kill. And no, the mount didn't drop :p

Currently uploading the video. Will release my other 3 videos tonight too :)

Alrighty, here's the overdue videos :) My little "secret" was just making good use of the buffs you can get from Adventurer's Journals (15% damage to certain mob types or a 30% chance when dealing damage to heal for 4-6% of max hp). I used one per hour and instantly logged out if the buff I gained was useful, then cleared the trash to a boss with my main.

Emalon:
After trying Emalon before, I first thought he was impossible because of the high amounts of nature damage his adds deal. Once I read the description on the Living Forever buff you can get from the journals, I realised I could spread my diseases across all the adds and use DnD off cd to maximise the number of heals from it, which seemed to be just enough to let me survive.

Marrowgar:
Marrowgar was just a case rotating defensive cooldowns in an efficient way and finding the right balance between DPS and survival. I could've probably avoided the fire a bit more than I did, and I failed to use 1 (or 2?) ghoul sacrifices >_<

Auriaya:
The hardest part about Auriaya is her 2 adds at the start, which hit for a truck but also need to be killed fast due to the stacking bleed. Once they are down, it was pretty much a "win" so long as I could keep my blood shield stacked high enough for Sonic Screech (which deals 60-70k physical damage). I went into that attempt thinking it was shadow damage (which is what it said on wowpedia) but realised it wasn't after I went from 80k hp to 12k with AMS up xD

Kael'thas:
Where do I begin... I think I'll write this description later lol :p

Seems like the Malygos phase 3 drakes scale with item level, which means the 1-1-2-3 rotation won't work :( My drake only had 201k health whereas I've seen videos of 85s doing it with 325k-360k.

Can anyone think of another rotation that might work? I tried switching to 1-1-4-3 when I started dropping but it wasn't enough to keep me up.

Ah so the health scales? Do you know if the damage does? Because it certainly doesn't feel like it.

As for the Adventurer's Journal stuff.....damnit, I've got some bosses to attempt.

So what have I done today? Well, I invented a "hardmode" for the third boss in Throne of the Tides...

...and it was hard!

80 DK solo: Mindbender Ghur'sha "Hardmode" - YouTube

This was probably one of the most difficult things I've soloed to date, and I'd encourage any 80 DK twinks who enjoy a challenge to give it a shot.

80 DK, DK, Death Knight, Twink, 80 Death Knight Twink... Enjoys a challenge, enjoys a challenge and rolls a DK. DOES NOT COMPUTE!
