Pve Resto druid: chardev 9

I've used 4pc t10, because it was a fairly good bonus, and most of the pieces are well itemised (there's also not a lot of options for offset that isn't from ICC)

I'm still struggling a little with shadow priests and their 4pc t10 bonus. It looks good on paper, but can anyone with access to a shadow priest with the set tell me if it still gives the same bonus? (it's a channel and period reduction on mind flay, the way it reads means the bonus could get weaker with haste, but I'm not sure)

I had a little bit of extra time, so I made a BiS UH dk chardev using Aelobin's haste caps. (Stopped at 945 haste, reforging to mastery wherever I could without sacrificing crit)

When you click the link, you will get an "object error", but you can just click it away.

I dun see no object error!

Ok looks good, although I would use the halion neck and reforge accordingly. UH gets a lot from str, and the 284 neck gets more than the alicite one.

Splosion, you have the new ones on your account on Chardev I hope? They just changed the URL a bit, that's why they went corrupt.

chardev 9

It now has the name of the profile in it as well, ended up .html as opposed to just the profile number it had before the update.

I'm hoping that's temporary, because it would a big mistake not to add support for old links.
If not, chardev.org/profile/xxxxxx.html works - no need to add the actual profile name, so a simple regex can fix the OP.

This is useful to know, thanks. Thing is, I don't know how to turn off the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) part of the editor, so I can easily change links. Given that, I haven't really gained anything.

Any ideas?

How come witching hourglass isn't on mage profiles? Is passive secondary stats + spellpower proc really better than passive int + haste proc? Did anyone actually simcraft these? (I'll try if I can get it to compile since the release version doesn't support new chardev yet)

It's basically the same as the other trinkets, except that you can't reforge the proc. Usually, proc SP works out better than proc secondaries, because you can get buffed dots, and it helps burn phases better.

I haven't simcrafted (besides doing the entire set), but I have a spreadsheet with uptimes and proc chance/durations in it.

I was assuming int is considerably better than spellpower for arcane mages, since it increases max mana, but simcraft shows nearly identical results for both trinkets (both like 33200 dps).
Also, you seem to have confused 2pc and 4pc on mage t10 - 2pc is the one that provides haste.

It's extra mastery vs extra max mana. One increases damage whilst the other keeps you in the top benefit of mastery longer, It will depend on fight length.

Fixed the error, thanks for pointing it out.

Okay more thoughts on the mage sets :p
On the pvp set, wouldn't it be better to use pvp gloves and 308 chest? Here's a comparison - you gain a some mastery and other stats and lose some resilience and crit, but most importantly you get blink GCD reduction.

In all honesty, I haven't looked at the pvp sets a lot, but that does look like a good idea, however. I wouldn't recommend going for resilience gems/enchants, given that a frost mage has a huge amount of survivability anyway, survivability that scales with spell power. Blink gcd is quite nice though.

After looking at the chardev in the OP, it's definitely wrong, given that it lacks shatter cap (33.4% crit), and prioritizes mastery before that (which imo, isn't the best way to go). I'll have a look at the sets in the morning, and post one with and one without each. The thing is, most mages will probably run with 90% PvE gear anyway, which means both gloves and chest.
