you do not gain any abilities, talents, perks by scaling up to a higher level in BGs or other scaling content.
although I swear for the first week or so of SL prepatch ptr I was gaining abilities upon entering test arenas

Haha while it is very true that I'm not at the bottom in terms of stats, I'm at the point now where it feels like the only progression is the exact Epic I want or I'm considering a multi-hour grind in order to get the enchants for like 2 vers
Unless, of course, there's something else I can improve

I think Dragon Slayer's Sabatons with 2x Shifting Dreadstone + Blurred Speed
and Crusher on your Gauntlets. Maybe Demidos Neck with a socket ?
For a pure F2P "something tells me youll be fine..."

But oh my goodness I have been farming the Demidos necklace +socket for like a month or 2, every single day. It does not want me to have it... but I can safely say I now have all 3/3 https://www.wowhead.com/item=119431/servant-of-demidos in my pet collection now

Also have 3 socket helm
Ring enchant en-route
not bothering with socket neck/cloak/ring
Going to toss em a couple more 2agi/2haste gems
Will farm socket bracers/another soulrenders fang
Had a blast playing this toon in some WG arenas the other day, felt pretty damn good.
Could PROBABLY try to farm an aurora belt/gloves and just throw +3 agi's in them instead of the tbc blues with 2/2

Only suggestion is https://www.wowhead.com/item=20104?ilvl=23 over Liar's Cord. It's 2agi 5crit 4haste 1stam 1arm vs 11 vers.
13 secondaries + 1stam/armor vs 11 versatility.
Depends on how much you favor Vers.

Girdle = 7 agi | 6 stam | 11 verse
So I'd be losing 2 agi, 1 stam, 5 crit, 4 haste, in trade for 11 verse..... I have NO idea what the difference honestly would be but I'm going to pick up the girdle anyways.

So that's my new warrior, it is a vet account that doesn't expire until next month, so in the meantime I'm working on getting all the best gear I can.
I have a 24 hunter I've been farming for socketed items, but thus far not one, and I farmed for like 10+ hours so far. Not sure how viable the 28 ilvl green socketed items are, I think I'll go crazy farming those.
I was hoping for suggestions on gear, gems, enchants, etc. He is in the very early stages, so I have work to do, but any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm gonna recommend, just offhand, a mix of 2str/2stam gems and some +3 str gems. I run +3s in my Crow Wing Reaper (youll wanna pick one of those up) and my Breastplate of Righteous Fury. 2/2 gems everywhere else. I then run 2/2 gems in my Exarchs Protector. That gives me a tanky chest and dps chest. You can do the same with legs and helm so you have a variety of options.
I put together a "you dont needs/cant get ilvl 28s" build for the twinkdb here which is a brief rundown of the gear you'll want to be shooting for. If you want something a little more in depth, I rambled on for a few thousand words here in my f2p warrior guide. Youre vet, but you may find it useful.
Any critiques I have would just be copy/pasting myself. But feel free to ask any questions.
