Shadowlands F2P Baseline Guide

A hidden requirement gear bit me in the butt recently, The Dreamgrove vendor Amurra Thistledew shows a few gear items that you can buy that say level 16 or under level 20 - for example Dreamgrove Spire ~100g, but after buying, it changes to not be able to use under level 20.

And being vendor gear, not disenchant-able.

Good point, but it seems with 9.0.5 some Class Halls were corrected aka Shaman Class Hall gear says you can not even buy the item. Thus I was surprised that the Druid vendor had items I could buy - sorry sucker no refunds ;)
[doublepost=1616086903,1616085930][/doublepost]I see that this guide is still a 'work in progress' but may be add that as part of the mat gathering while in Tailoring or Leatherworking mode for making a number of 'Relics of the Past I' for most of the initially higher than level 20 crafted gear besides the Pandaria Goggles later.

Right now its just for the Ghost Iron Dragonling and Googles, and some for the Jewelcrafting socketed trinkets. But technically these relics can be used in Blacksmithing and Leatherworking items that could be fun on a F2P/Vet (maybe for more transmorg gear?).

One of the stranger use cases is the Philosopher's Stone which initially requires character Level 15, Vanilla Alchemy (50) and is a ivll 24, why would I want to put a 'Relics of the Past I' on it to make it a ilvl19 for a Level 14? I haven't tried it but does it make the stone not require Alchemy to equip or something?

The guide is a baseline guide and not a comprehensive one. It's a bit abandoned right now (admittedly) but we purposefully didnt include a lot of stuff. Some of it because its obvious, some of it because we think part of the fun of F2P is finding and learning a lot of this stuff on your own, even if that means making the occasional mistake.

Hi there, trying to make an enhancement shaman twink vet!
I was wondering why the weapon enchants are elemental force? Before I found this guide I was thinking of going lifestealing, or isn't that a viable choice? Thx and great work on all this information here!!

PROFESSIONS GRIND

You can remove this from the guide, the Jeeves schematic requires lvl 25 to learn.
So even if you get the scrapbots required for the making (the quest for them requires also lvl 25), you will still not be able to craft Jeeves

yeah, i learned the recipe on my f2p back in the day, but forgot to update guide to reflect the scrapbot kit lvl requirements.

Hi,
I'm working on my vet druid. For the ghost iron dragonlin, look like i have to be 75 ingineer to use the cogwheels. Is that right ?

Yes, 75 in Cataclysm engineering. You can make (using a relic of the past) and socket it on an alt though if you have one.

Oh great, so the dragonlin with the cogwheels is not bind. Thanks for the answer

Hey, im a f2p rogue at the moment im starting to get some best in slot gear. But at this point im a bit lost. I got enchanting as a profession and ive been disenchanting all items I don’t need so I got some materials already. But im looking for a bit more information on how to lvl up enchanting and get the enchants you want as a f2p acc. Also I got my artefact weapon but I don’t understand how I can get the relics to level it up?
And what is the fastest way to fill up the sockets in my best in slot gear?
(In short I don’t really understand the f2p profession grind!)

I play on a eu server and im also happy to grind some BG or dung with some other twinks so hit me up!

here's an enchanting spreadsheet to help you out figure out what enchants you need:

quest through legion and pray you get an epic proc on 2 relic types you need for your weapon. here's the list of quest reward relics from wowhead:

(both of these resources were listed on page 1, post #5, BTW)

I generally use the site below as a general guideline on how to level. It helps to also pick up tailoring to make greens to DE with the cloth you get while farming/gearing. Theres also spreadsheet somewhere in the guides post with what the various enchants scale to, base your decisions on the 29 column since thats what we scale to in bgs

Questing and legion dungeons

For rogues you can buy 2agi/2crit or 3agi gems for marks of honor in your capital city. Though since you are melee you might want a couple talasites from jewelcrafting as well
