Not sure about level 18 but a level 17 should get an 18 Skullflame Shield. The real problem is finding the source. No drops confirmed.

You do have a Skull flame on ur shamy.. Was it squished on prepatch? Would you mind sharing any info about it?

I got the same in zulfarak on my higher. I’m testing there because it seems like the mobs should be able to drop the rare items based on its long history as a transmog farmer instance with lots of recorded drops. Nothing to report yet sadly. But my goals to loot an epic on the level 17, from the higher tier epic pool in there. From what I understand, because it was originally lower level than the higher tier epics, it won’t be as common to get them as say someone in Lbrs, but it should be possible?? Unless my looters level effects the pool. Only blizz knows that though.


Also, reports from @Winterly doing the farm in ZF, is that his 4 looters, excluding his carry 50, seem to loot more items than my 17 and 50 combined. As if every character has their own random generation of world loot per mob (personal loot).

How has been ir farming on ZF? Any update? Looking into maybe starting it myself (60 char + 17 char)

I spent months before SL pre-patch buying any level 43 epics I could find. Skullflame Shield was one of them. I have 2 and sold a third. I have not seen any confirmed drops for level 20 or lower since the squish went live.

I think I'll try to farm ZF for a while with the hope of something dropping in

So @Brilliant and I have been farming classic zones together, and trying different things out. Here is what we have found out:-

• we farmed 10k~ Silithus hyperspawn and received 0 epic drops.
• we farmed 50k~ Burning Steppes hyperspawn and received 0 epic drops.
• we consulted other farmers and believe that 400k+ Silithus kills have been achieved with 0 epic drops. Some reported believing classic epics are now GF. This is not true: read on!
• we farmed Blasted Lands rares with 2x High level & 2x Level 17 chars (THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT).

The Flawless Spheres can be traded/mailed to a Level 17 to be handed in and opened. In total we farmed/bought 350 Spheres.

Every single chest you open is guaranteed to give you at LEAST 1x Blue items. Here is the route we used to farm the rares:

In total we looted 5 epics from 350 boxes. We think the loot rules are as follows:-

• Armor scales to level
• Weapons scale to 18 and CANNOT scale to 20. Looting on anything higher than a 17 will result in 20+ epic weapons.

These are the epics we received at a rate of 70 chests:1 epic:

We believe that the ONLY epics you can get from this method are from the following list. This is judging from wowhead comments, our own farm and word of mouth:

Bare in mind that this farming method is used by level 60s to get rare blue transmogs. So some realms are heavily farmed.

The next thing @Brilliant and I are working on is another Classic zone hyper spawn that has given us a lot of high-end blues, including this helm, but no epic yet. We looted this about 4 days ago on a level 17. It is not a GFed drop. Hopefully we will be able to share more information in the coming weeks on our findings. Ultimately we are hoping to find a Skullflame/Destiny/Hand of Edward the Odd location. The ONLY definitive proof of looted epics we have seen since Shadowlands are from the above list.

Didn't took screenshot, and I have to check for in-game, but I think I got an epic from previous loot table (old 39s?), The "Fire war axe" dropped on my 20 shamy, and I think I discarded it because of being high lvl for a F2P..
Also, it was about 20-25 boxes open by that time.. I am now sitting at 112, no more epics..

These are all Legion Assault drops (or at least within 30 min, as I continue to farm and use up Assault buffs), and the loot window always shows on-char lvl. The "Treias" drop was Felskorn. I dug up five more cases: +1, +1, -1, -1 and +0:

Graverobbers dropped a Cyno to that same lvl26, which went +1 again.

At 1000 Lights Temple, a level 23, got a Boughs, which went -1.
Also 1000LT post-assault, level 18 got Eyasu's which went -1.

Felskorn: Lvl 19, got Boughs which went +1
Graverobbers: Lvl 17 got Samnohs, which did NOT change levels.

I killed Kazz with a level 17 at least 3 times to be sure that I was tagging it right(in case I was missing hits). Never let me loot on the 17. Also tried on a 20 and had the same results as you did

Legion epics is best farmed at 20 since its almost exclusivly armor.

So I think this might be a case of the mobs you are killing are different levels? If you kill and loot a 20 mob it will drop 20 armor etc?

Not sure what you're saying about the mob levels. For these Legion Assault screenshots, the mobs are my level or -1. The Icy Familiar is 18 to my 18. The Graverobbers are 16 to my 17, or 26 to my 26. Or is there a hidden level to the mobs, governed by zone?

No. Just the variation could stem from the level variation. That graverobber target is 18 for example. Anyways if you want legion epics you farm at 20. For greens 24 or 25. Theres no use being 16 or 17 or 18 there.

On the main post I can't see any place to farm Arcane relics.. There is no spot (other than legion invasions?)
