Warlords of Draenor Changes for F2P

So if i understand WOD changes correctly, how we choose race/class combinations is going to be completely different because base racial stats no longer benefit each class differentially? i.e. we are trying to get the most benefit out of f2p accounts so how do we choose? I ask in part because I'm working on a table to share with the community but it may be obsolete in a few months if this is the case. I don't know if this was already raised in this thread - so apologies if i'm repeating. thanks.

What makes you think the Elf races won't be BiS next expansion? Shadowmeld and Arcane Torrent still are miles ahead of other race's racials.

Cause then we have less room for silly questions. And human is looking very nice in wod.

Human won't as good in this bracket as they are at max level and probably never will be. Unless the new human spirit will scale out of control. 130 vs Shadowmeld which can block unlimited damage. Hmmm, i wonder which is better!

All races can't be elfs.

Let me clarify my question. Maybe someone would be willing to actually answer it. Are the base stats for each race the same post WOD? Are the base class stat bonuses the same? If so can anyone provide a WOD update link or reference that would help all of us understand whether the way we pick races on a per class basis has changed or is the same?

Explanation of the new Strongbox reward system for battlegrounds:

The Warlords of Draenor expansion will also bring some major improvements to the way PvP gear is earned. For starters, we’re vastly improving the bonus rewards you can earn from doing Random or Call to Arms Battlegrounds. At the end of a match, you’ll earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Strongbox—or possibly all three. Which Strongboxes you earn depends on how well your team did in the match, but you can still earn them even if your team doesn’t win.

Take Warsong Gulch, for example. If your faction captured at least one flag before the game ended, you’ll get the Bronze Strongbox. Capture a second, and you’ll earn both the Bronze and Silver. And if you capture all three, not only do you win the game, but you’ll also earn all three Strongboxes. We’ll be restructuring the scoring of other Battlegrounds slightly (such as changing Arathi Basin to end at 1,500 points) so it’s easy to figure out what you need for each Strongbox.

Inside those Strongboxes could be any number of rewards: Honor points, Conquest points—even gear. Better Strongboxes can have better rewards, so even if your team is behind in the match, it’s worth keeping up the fight to try to earn the best reward you can.

Of course, Skirmishes (the unranked Arenas we announced a little while back) will have rewards as well. We’re still discussing exactly how we want to hand them out, but you’ll be able to earn gear and Honor by playing Skirmishes if you’d prefer.

Unless they have mentioned a change, one would have to assume that they will remain the same, until such a change is announced in the patch notes. Of course, there could be a stealth nerf, but it seems unlikely for that type of change. From everything I've read, it looks like they are bringing the rest of the game down to us, and leaving the amount of our stats alone, more or less. That could change, but until then, this is what your base stats look like: Race - Wowpedia

Regarding the above Strongboxes, looks like it's going to be a real race to keep the flags out of the hands of wanna-be FCs.

Suggestion: Could you put new changes in red? That would make it easier for lazy people like me to quickly scan the first post for recent changes.

Non-whiny note: All tank specializations now have Bladed Armor (+1 attack power per point of bonus armor)

Yeah that's a good idea, I will try to start highlighting the more recent changes. The main post is getting kind of huge and I'm sure it can be hard to sift through it all and figure out what I've added.

As for Bladed Armor, I left it out initially because we don't know when that passive will be unlocked. After thinking about it again it seems pretty likely to me that this will just be another passive you get for choosing a tank spec at 10 (much like Vengeance/Resolve), so for now I'll add it to the list. Thanks for the tip.

It's up on the wod.wowhead.com talent calculator right now for all tank specs at level 10. That's the only reason I suggested it.

I think we will get pet battles!!
They are feature of Mists while in WoD we will get Mists into battle chest!!
That will probably happen lately on.

The weird thing is that the spell says it's level 10 for Death Knights, but lists all other tanks specs. Could be a data-mining error.

F2P will suffer hard when they have to go vs 29s
As if 24s were's tough enough as it is.
Extra health, damage, abilities and a glyph spot.

Lets hope that the "upscaling" continues to help out a little to minimise the blow.
