Upcoming Ele Force nerf opinions?

At any point can striking +3 weapon damage become good if elemental force is jacked by 50%? I don't know the nerd math.

I think all the striking and impact enchants are +2 damage at 19. It'll depend on the class, but I think at 10RPPM, ele force still wins.

I know that when ambush used to be a thing that required daggers and did like 400% weapon damage, you could have an assassin's blade with +weapon damage for openers and switch to your regular shadowfang w/ +15 agility for actual combat. I don't know if anything else has the scaling to make a similar scenario. Especially with the GCD for weapon swapping.

From what I've read/tested, Its a much needed change

How much of a boost do you think these changes will give to the 'sader using classes? Warrior/ret are going to be essentially untouched if 'sader does not also get nerfed.

At 10-19, warr and ret are held back by lack of key abilities. They will maintain their current damage. Warrs will (still) be scary if given a pocket healer and/or pocket CCer to stay on target. At 29/39/49, fury is stupid crazy strong already - though I think ele force is less mandatory at that level too.

FYI on the weapon damage enchants, the tooltips lie and they only affect your MH weapon.

Code:
Permanently enchant a melee weapon to do 2 additional points of damage.

It does what it says it does. However, moves that use offhand damage simply use 1/2 mainhand damage in pvp last time I checked (which, admittedly, is a while ago now). You would only want it on your mainhand regardless. Offhand should be an RPPM or flat stat enchant.

Maybe i was too vague, there is 4 different weapon damage enchants. All the tooltips in game when viewed by a 19 say +1 weapon damage. That is not accurate. Every version lesser, striking ,major, greater all give different numbers.

Secondly, sharpen your mh weapon. See your damage go up. Sharpen your OH and watch nothing happen. Thats weapon damage aka the enchants i was referencing.

Yeah, thats what I'm referring to as well. Instanced pvp uses 1/2 mainhand weapon damage for offhand weapon damage. Which is why you wouldn't want any of those offhand.

I can't speak to what the tooltips say - according to wowhead superier and major striking should scale down to +2. The other scale to +1 or even +0. I haven't checked if those are the same in game, and if the in game tooltips match what actually happens to your char sheet.

sooooo you are going off wowhead and im testing in game.....like why would i make it up? Smh. No need to respond

IMO Elemental will still be the best option and i will continue to use it. GL and see ya in a BG

Ahh I gotchu now. I thought you were saying that the tooltips were lying *because* they only affect mainhand. Not that the tooltips are inaccurate and, as a separate concept, weapon damage doesn't work on offhands. Was trying to figure out where it said anything about offhand. I did say that I can't speak to the tooltip numbers - though I'll see about testing the numbers later when I'm not at work.

I’m personally kinda excited for the change that this is going to bring, going to change the viability of a lot of classes and the way 19 is played, just wanted to hear some other people’s opinions on the subject.
Good Change, brings out more viable for enchants Melee and Caster. will offer less of a cookie cutter "Best in Slot" Guide

fuck ele force but I'll be sad that surv is taking a hit

also can i get a link on these changes?

I haven't seen any patch notes that cover these changes. Not sure if theres been a blue post about it. Most of the info is from comparing ptr/live on wowhead or actually testing things on both ptr/live.

I've been testing the 10+ agil chant on 2h for feral. Full combo bite with Tiigers Fury non crit is 250, with crit its 384. Highest Ive hit a bite with 10+ agil and zerkers buff was 694 in a bg. While running ele force full bite with tigers fury is 236 non crit and with crit it has been 354. Big bite dmg if you crit but you sac ele force procs from bleeds and moonfire DoT. Still happy to see ele getting nerfed.
