Staff of the One True Bramble King

The bracket is really suffering badly because of the staff, I won't argue that... it's allowing a TON of other wise crap level Hunters to act hard. Say what you want, make up what you want... SL is way worse balanced than BFA was at all.

The "customization" deal was a nice gimmick at the start... but basically there are two classes worth playing... then some other specs and shit you can get away with if you premade/get lucky and you are the only twink in a game.

There are actually more survival hunters on each week... no joke. I believe mainly because of access to the staff.

Well .. let the sheep be sheep. I'm not a fan of "I'm gonna play that because it's good and I don't like loosing" myself, but you can't blame people for not wanting to lose either. I guess playing whatever makes you feel good it's for the best, and performing good even when matched with 100 hunters can be a form of satisfaction.

I didn’t even know about the damn thing. I can’t even remember what I was doing in shadowmoon... prolly trying to get one of the many trinkets around draenor. Got off the flight point, NPCscan went off and there was what I thought would’ve been completely hotfixed along with the other 44s

I don't want to downplay good hunters that use i34s... there are a TON of them. I just don't like the rising influx of hunters attracted like flies on shit to a broken weapon they can't resist... its not the weapon... it's the number of huntards.

Again, nothing you can do, but the forums are a good place to vent your disdain for people in general.

Honestly tho... it really does always come back to premades... if a uber melee always has uber heals they will just do 150k with their eyes closed playing with their toes... pressing whatever buttons in whatever order.

So what's the best enchant for the staff? I went thru the armory, but they are split between the straight agility and elemental force.

Agree.

The evolution of a twink:

(1) Hey, wow, we can pvp at level 20, woo, less buttons than on max level, nice, fun!
(Bruised face)
(2) Hrm, OK, I got it, I didn't have enchants, wasn't prepared, it's all fine, getting my heirlooms, farming up some low-level enchant materials, enchanting, good to go!
(Bruised face)
(3) Heh, right, I know, it's unbalanced, let's roll something with lots of health, like prot paladin, I'll survive for longer and then I will use my superior max level pvp understanding to outskill, woot!
(Bruised face)
(4) Hm, strange, but it's alright, I just picked the wrong class, I am just dying slowly when I should be killing, I know what to do, rolling feral / rogue.
(Bruised face)
(5) Damn, I am getting killed too much, especially by hunters, *lightbulb* I KNOW, rolling a hunter!
(Bruised face)
(6) WTF... how come other hunters are killing me? Let's check their gear, ah, I understand now, they are surv and have that ilvl 44, doing the same.
(Bruised face)
(7) Urgh. Uuuuuuurgh. Fck. They have healers and I don't. It's all about premades.

I think (7) above is the final form. (But who knows.)

It's more disappointing than anything else. You want the kids to get tired of rolling Hunter or at least get tired of the same broken results... they don't... ever.

Also the "If I can't beat them join them" mentality of the community is also disappointing. So easy to give up, for what? Hunter has zero respect now, so who cares.

I agree that the premade is bad... but honestly, Hunter is so broken now, it would not matter much.

Wait so the ilvl 44 brambleking staff is a one attempt kill? I got it on my hunter at like level 14, it's ilvl 18 lol.

So guys, what happened here was I got this weapon to drop before they fixed the ilvl 44's from wod. I had the staff as ilvl 44, they hotfixed all the gear and mine was hot fixed to this ilvl. I deleted it, restored it and told them it was restored at the wrong Ilvl so wish me luck! Lol!

I was in a group with a LvL 50 Char and got nothing after 4 attempts ... is it allowed to be in a group for the kill?

@Cattywompus ... I know that you can only loot a rarity once. That was not the question. The four attempts were with four new LvL 10 characters. I got the impression that the group with the big char was not helpful. There were different LvL 45 to 50 characters and they always got the stick, the little one never.

Oh shit, it might just be bad rng man.

Hunters overtuning at low level aside, the draw of the staff is too strong for the people that didn’t get GFed artifacts. I’ve been playing 50s almost exclusively so I can’t speak much to the state of the bracket but I can imagine things are out of sync. That imbalance might be traced to the staff but the staff is a result of people trying to compensate for the artifacts. In essence, it’s the i49s that are the root of it imo. If every class could attain a wep of comparable ilevel, only then would you see the diversity that we all wish existed.

So, not the 'One True Brambleking'.

Is this one of the mythical non-BBking drops, that wowhead reports?

This mob drop doesn't appear on wowhead I don't think (at least where I'm looking: https://www.wowhead.com/item=117551/staff-of-the-one-true-bramble-king?bonus=6691)

The lower ilvl bramble staff dropped for my level 20 from a different rare a few weeks ago. It was my first time in Shadowmoon Valley and flew by a cave near the northern flightpoint. Saw a star on map, so figured "Why not?" When the rare dropped the low ilvl staff I cursed and thought I messed up. If I remember correctly though, my level 50 got a bramble staff drop from the cave rare and then Brambleking Fili. My level 20 only got the cave rare bramble staff.

Edit: Above was a different staff off a different rare. Thanks for the correction, Nechiforus.
