SL Guide and FAQs

Great guide! So what content would a level 10 be able to reach, are classic raids able to be accessed ?
Level 10's gain access to a ton of Content. Raids from Vanilla to WotLK all require Level 30.

will all of the gem gear be the same after it scales or will there be a reason to run every dungeon? Has nobody tested that deep yet?
as it currently stands, vets will just need to buy gem gear from a vendor in shatt. Should that gear get slapped with a level requirement in the future, then vets will need to run every TBC and WOTLK dungeon we have access to in order to get a full set of gem gear.

f2ps are gonna have to run those dungeons because the vendor gear in shatt all costs more than 10 gold.

That they scale to 10 at start has been confirmed for a while, but that doesn't mean it's their level cap.
Ah true, well I think they'll most likely tie it up with mount usage (like it was on lv 20) so hopefully its 10, well see tho

Ah i see! Ty

anything special we need to know about the artifact weapon at level 10? weird things we might have to do etc?

Also are there trinkets to get or are the lacquered/charm still going to be good?

theres a grip of specs for whom no access to the artifact weapons currently exists. IE fury warriors only get one of the swords because no titans grip, resto druids dont have cleanse to finish the quest, mm hunters quest is just glitchy as hell, I think there are some issues with some mage and warlock specs too?

You don't need cleanse to finish the quest - they give you cleanse in a special quest action, now.

And re: gemmed gear for vets, if iLvl 44 gear goes live like it is on the PTR now, it's going to be better than a lot of gemmed gear. Particularly for strength classes, who to the best of my knowledge do not currently have access to a decent gem.

oh they fixed it! good.

now to just gimme my fury weapons...

It could be worse.

Balance's mastery (level 10) improves their damage bonuses from Eclipse...

A passive ability learned at level 11.

Purchased gem gear will be overpowered better by like "yolo I'm so good I'm a vet!" or like kind of better as to not make F2p a mockery? I don't know what the item levels translate to in actual stat numbers.

Eh, vendor gear with gems can push like 15 main stat and 15 crit depending on stat distribution. Whcih is more than the ilvl 44 gear. But way less stam and less of whatever second secondary there is, obviously. So depending on class, spec, build preference, item slot, etc we may end up mixing pieces. Assuming, again, that scaling doesnt get fixed.

As for f2p, theyre probably humped regardless.

Something sort of like this:

If a piece of gem gear has these stats: 6 int, 10 stam, 6 crit (3 sockets)
And if each socket has a 5 int 5 crit gem in it (+15 int, +15 crit)
Then the total stats are: 21 int, 10 stam, 21 crit.

Compare this to an ilvl 44 piece for the same slot, which has stats of something like: 12 int, 17 stam, 9 crit, 6 mastery.

Net change by equipping the gem piece: +(9 int, 11 crit), -(7 stam, 6 mastery)

For this slot (roughly: helm, chest, legs), I've chosen to take the gems over the ilvl 44 piece. But for most gem items that don't have 3 sockets, I think the ilvl 44 piece is just ridiculously better.

Something else to keep in mind is that many casters don't actually want Critical Strike (or at least shouldn't prioritize it).

if Bizzard does not fix this stupidity, will this make the non-skill gap larger than it is now between F2P and Vet or will be the same/less?

Hey was wondering if anyone could tell me what transmogs will be available @10, transmog is wonky and buggy for me on PTR/dunno if it's all accurate.

I was able to use everything on my 10 Hunter that my 120 Hunter (and really anything that's Mail, so Shammy also) had gotten as drops in the XMog tab. This is on Beta, which I have access to.

Vets would be able to purchase this iLvl 27/28 gear with more sockets than you can get from dungeons, while trials cannot... so, it would the vet gap larger.

can we loot the garrison fish that drops the 2 turtles at 10 , and what about at 20 ?

I feel like we are just going to see aimed shot vet nerds with gemmed out of their mind ubergear destroying then claiming everything is balanced.
if current build is live build, then... maaaaaaaaybe. The Black Empire gear gives similar output stats to fully gemmed gear, while having something like 20 more stam per piece. So currently hunters global anyone in gemmed gear but toss another 2k health on everyone and itll look a bit more like current damage/health pool ratios

have fun farming invasions everyone!
