Shadowlands F2P Baseline Guide

Dude... seriously? Same guy, just spam the train button.

Holy shit you guys.

Well I asked in my first post if it was available as soon as you learn MoP Leatherworking. There was no way to know and previous guides (before profession leveling changed) mentioned a skill of 575, while MoP started at 500. One would assume you require a lot of progress into MoP Leatherworking to learn it.

But whatever, I got it in all my pants now, nice and easy. So thanks, I guess.

Hello.
I don't want to create a new topic, may i ask here?

Which stat will be better for spriest vers or mastery if i'm interesting in pure dmg? (Let's just forget about bonus to healing and dmg reducton for min)
I have +- same numbers from each +X stat from items, but mastery is increased my dmg by x% for each DoT on the target. So against targets with 2 DoTs mastery will be x2 better than vers, and x3 better with all tree DoTs, is that's true?

And what about haste stat? Last time when i was playing around DoT's they got additional ticks, hold character's stats when they was casted (with refresh machanic u could save bonus from blood lust during all combat, for example) etc. That's all was changed so idk about haste, how good or bad this stat.
___
I'm really bad in mechanic math, and not sure which stat i should max. Atm i have more than 31% critchance, but
i wanna change it for more smooth dmg by maxing another stat (thinking about vers or mastery).

Can u help me with it?

I'm having a hard time on how to go with profession swapping, what to do with them and when to safely swap. A more detailed profession strategy would be great.

Also, there's Profession X + Cataclysm X + Draenor X .... Like wtf?

[Work in Progress]

We're working on it. We're still not entirely sure ourselves. Im stuck in the 3 week long grind of waiting on alchemy xmute CDs for epic gems right now. Because we're kinda feeling this all out, there have been a lot of mistakes and having to go back and re-grind mats and stuff. There was also a lot of initial worry that the lifting of profession restrictions for F2P was unintended, so some super important things were rushed (ie crusader) at the expense of forming the most efficient process.

But thats what "work in progress" means

Until we can get it hashed out, the guide as it exists is pretty good. You're gonna have to use some common sense and think for yourself though. Dont drop enchanting until you have enough scrolls of the various enchants you want. Dont take LW until you have the pants you want to put armor kits on. Make liberal use of wowhead and wow-professions to calculate needed mats (I usually shoot for 120% of the recommended amount because RNG is a bitch)

Know what professions you want to end up with and work backwards from there. Typically, this is engineering for the toys/cogwheels and alchemy for the flask.

are the accord ring enchants working again? after prepatch i was unable to use them, even my 27s were getting no stats from them

if you want to make https://www.wowhead.com/item=114821/hexweave-bag you do not need a tailoring hut, and you do not need to profession swap to alch for https://www.wowhead.com/item=113263/sorcerous-earth. they are sold in your garrison by
https://www.wowhead.com/npc=84967/appraiser-sazsel-stickyfingers and https://www.wowhead.com/npc=84246/ashley-zerep for https://www.wowhead.com/item=120945/primal-spirit which is the hold up.

upgrading your mine to level 2 will get the primal spirits over time to purchase sorcerous earth, just quickly mining it daily. you can at random turn in ore to trading post work orders for garrison resources if needed

not sure if getting invites to a players level-3 garrison and using saved up mats on daily random traders works for 20s? https://www.wowhead.com/item=120945/primal-spirit#sold-by

having a level-1 trading post and using garrison resources saved up, could help if the prices are 16-20 range, to boost your primal spirit purchases if the above traders work. the trading post is also useful in passively getting mats to make https://www.wowhead.com/spell=168835/hexweave-cloth. so herbing prof also not needed

updating above post and status on making hexweave bags F2P, no help. i have a mine, and a forge (blacksmith) building both upgraded to level 2. the work orders from the forge provide 1-2 https://www.wowhead.com/item=113263/sorcerous-earth daily

MUST-HAVE EQUIPMENT

D: ARTIFACTS
**DISCLAIMER**
YOU WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE LEGION'S BROKEN SHORE CAMPAIGN TO UNLOCK NEW DALARAN. (Skippable on subsequent toons)

How do I get the Epic Relics or get the chance to farm them? I have no clue how to do it, is it only by farming it in dungeons or I have to do some quests and pray for luck/create multiple characters until I'm lucky

Not sure if it’s relevant here but I noticed that if you are playing a DK or DH and you hit level 20 go to your class hall vendor in Legion and you can find Ivl 25 blue’s for all slots. It’s the same gear you got rewarded during the DK / DH starter zones but lvled up to ilv 25. The gear is unlikely to be optimal but it’s a good start while grinding quests for the epic relics.

For the relics make sure you have first selected the class order hall upgrade that gives you an increased chance of rng upgrades. Then do every quest you can that rewards relics. Do all the random dungeons in Legion, most dungeons will have at least one relic on the boss loot tables. It’s rng on to of rng I’m afraid. If you still have not gotten 2 epic relics then farm hyper spawns in the zone which rewards the relic you need ( while queuing for even more dungeons).
Note: I still only have one epic relic :(

I do wanna mention with the garrison part, after you complete Talador and Gorgrond you'll get: https://www.wowhead.com/item=116395/comprehensive-outpost-construction-guide and https://www.wowhead.com/item=116394/outpost-building-assembly-notes

which you can turn into https://www.wowhead.com/npc=85849/kinkade-jakobs alliance and https://www.wowhead.com/npc=85840/torgg-flexington horde for medium and large building blueprints.

just a warning thou, you only have one shot per character once you trade... make it count.
Doesn't work for me. I've got the books, bought the blueprints, but "You can't use that item"

sounds like another patch 9.0.2 nerf, same as armor enhancement tokens cant be used. not sure if its intentional though. i hope not. might need to send some bug reports

I’d report that, if that’s in the game legally we should have the option to use it. It’s not like we’re breaking the game when completing the quest lines and every one that has done them has those items.

6. Mining/Jewelcrafting (Finish out your Gems collection) – [Work in Progress]
The Currently broken/unscaled option:
20-something https://www.wowhead.com/item=23437/talasite for your pure Stamina
https://www.wowhead.com/item=33782/steady-talasite set (prospected from https://www.wowhead.com/item=23425/adamantite-ore).

thanks to @Chops & his never-ending effort to uncover the ultimate F2P standard; we have come to the conclusion that this route of WotLK JC is a gigantic pain on the ass, gated behind weekly cooldowns.

will rework this part to focus on grabbing a few talasites for your socket-heavy TBC pieces, and filling other slots with the unique (+3) TBC gems & gems bought with MoH.

this also means that the grind for ilvl 28 pieces is a must, since we'll be missing a lot of desired secondaries without vers gems in WotLK JC (but this part was already agreed on, since mastery is so good for a lot of DPS specs).

I want to expand on this by pointing out that a lot of the desired gem recipes (the 2/2 gems) are bought with Dalaran JC Tokens from JC dailies. Which seems easy enough. But all of those dailies require gathering a unique item and using it to make the required quest item. These items have a hidden requirement that F2P toons dont meet (im fairly certainly its a character level requirement) and so we cant use them, which means we cant complete the daily.

So getting Dalaran JC tokens requires prospecting titanium ore for titanium powder for the turn-ins. You'd need at least 30 powder to get the first recipe and 40 powder for every recipe beyond that. After mining 2000 saronite for the gems I needed, I had gathered enough titanium that I had 8 powder.

The grind for this is obscene enough that I think it's safe to say the best way for forward for F2P gems is to grind out Talasites from Adamantite veins and prospecting. It's certainly simpler and doesnt require waiting on 24 hour transmute CDs. Should Talasite get nerfed, I think its safe to say you'll still have +3 stam gems and honestly, thats still pretty sexy.

(jesus christ I cant believe I spent 3 weeks worth of xmute CDs just to end up abandoning it)
