EU+US Scaling and stat squish discussion for 50-59 in BfA

Please leave all your questions, findings, speculations and answers for how the new stat squish in BfA is going to affect us.

Some of my findings so far: it pretty much looks like the squish happens around lvl 50-51 ish. So that is really good news for lvl 50 twinks actually since, everything above is getting scaled down, but 50 remains the same. ^^
The question is if the ilvl 87 greens will get gfd or scaled down too in bfa. we can't know that before ptr is up (or live even as it could change again).
View attachment 7412 so those with a complete black background are current/live taken from wowhead, and the others are from current beta build. As you can see the ilvl squish is bigger the higher we go up. Btw the vengeance bands are random world boe drop and the other two legs are crafted (Blacksmithing). For some reason I couldn't see all the stuff that can be crafted on live on the beta. It skipped from lvl55 to lvl80. From bs to cataclysmic bs. Maybe somebody else knows how to check it better or it is just a change. So you can train cataclysmic engi from lvl 78 engi lvl 1. it basically seem to skip all the other old ranks like expert, artisan etc. And it looks like, at least from the trainer, that all the tbc and wotlk recipes are removed .

I believe the 87 Greens currently are Grandfathered.

Currently a lot of weird stuff is happening as we can now see it with the copy character from live to beta realms.

if 59 will be the “most twinky” can someone check to see what the blacksmithing level requirement is in bfa for adding a gem slot to belt please? also besides engineering would it be smart to grind out any other professions that may have cool bonuses or bop gear/items? like how you would get a stam buff from mining or the heal from herbalism during.......... cata? i forget when, just know i still have toons with mining/skirning i havent touched or updated.

All BC/LK dungeons (as far as I know) have socketed gear drops. So for us, that's Ramparts, Blood Furnace, Utgarde Keep and Nexus. Not all of them have drops appropriate for every class, though. It's worth consulting the in-game dungeon journal to browse through the items that you can get from these dungeons (the tooltips in the journal show the stats of the items as they drop for your character's level)

This one ? Because you don't need a Blacksmithing level to put it, only lvl 70 requirements...

PvP Power gems gain more value the more SP/AP you have on the rest of your gear thanks to its multiplicative scaling. Did some testing earlier, the threshold at 59 seems to be 393. So, if before adding any gems, your spellpower or attack power is 392 or lower, one +6 int/agi/str gem will contribute more than one +6 PvP power gem. 393 or higher, one +6 PvP power gem will be better.

There are other factors to this though, mainly concerning healing. Damage specs receive a reduced benefit to their healing from PvP Power, and healer specs do not gain any damage increase from PvP power at all, so if you're a healer that likes to play aggressive (like me) then you're better off using +6 int or 5/5 int/crit gems.

There is no designated server for the 59 bracket.

Stormwind PvP gems are for 85 twinks. (with the exception of raw critical strike, intellect, and agility)

What you are looking for are Stormy empyrean sapphire(s). This pattern is a drop from the battle of mount Hyjal trash mobs. A more expensive alternative would be stormy majestic zircons - which are learned through dal JC tokens.

I have just finished gearing my Ret, took me around 70 ids to get everything i wanted.
Atm i am running with 12 +6str gems because there are not enough versatility / pvp power ones on the auction house.
My 3 dmg proc items already doing ~13% of my dmg but they only scale with versatility imho.
Will run some bgs with full pvp power and versatility over the next days to make comparisons.

Does nexus gear scale to 59? If so you might want to grab the plate helm from there that has a meta socket. The wrath meta gem that offers chance on hit to increase attack speed, offers 300 some haste still

Arcane-Shielded Helm: 15Str / 23Sta / Meta / Prisma
Snow Goggles: 23Str / 35Sta / 15Crit / 15Vers (12 Frost Resi)

No Meta on the AH, will keep an eye out for it.
