I've been doing that for about month and a half mate
I had few versions; first i named my balloon Whisper me and my strand crawler Im Trial
I summoned them and pointed, hugged and kissed them.. Not very successfully
Nowadays I only got my Whisp me balloon

I guess Ravencrest alliance are the most ignorant and rude players EU :<<

Most I got is that a 90 targeted me on 30 sec before he joined a LFR or smthng :/

I usually use a combination of /talk ("xxx wants to talk things over with xxx" - can't get much more obvious than that) and /beg. I usually get a port within an hour. Go to Dalaran for a greater selection of appropriately leveled players (it's a cross realm zone).

I also named one of my pets Whisper Please while trying to get a DK to Shattrath two days ago and the mage targeted my pet right after I pointed at it and I got a whisper shortly after so I take it that higher levels can see my pet's name and me pointing at the pet.
