I just have an exam in 6 hours and been busy so lets get to it.

Mage, you have 2 insane ccs, poly and ofc nova, so how do you applies these on a well positioned healer? Well it's obvious, you have 2 options, the fun way, blink in/racial in/pop out of meld/worgen sprint for deep positioning and then blinking out. Hard to execute but if you are nelf and you know they cant kick you on your poly, blink in go for the poly, meld and hope your healers have your ass. For say goblin, jump in poly blink out, voidelf mage send your port back blink in poly port out, and the new one which I recently have found out zandalari glider in and blink out.

Option number two, althrough far slower and harder to execute, cc dps and hope you dont die as you try to cc the preist pretty damn deep, hard to execute without someones shear or trap or legit anything they can throw at you that will hit you while doing so. Not as fun, more people question wtf are you doing.

Now, when it comes to O and D, you are the strongest consistent dps, with an average of 200-210 dps per second just spamming missles for fuk sake you can easily force their fc any pretty darn low stacks to run away, you will hit like a fuckin truck and cc his healers, he won't like that. So, you are effectively more of a support class in this situation, if you ever connect, their fc is bad, but you have so much power in your hands of spamming 1 spell that you can force thier FC to wherever you want him to be, if thats into the hands of the rest of your team, sounds good doesn't it.

Now for defense, you are the only class with a pretty nice aoe, you can escort your FC anywhere and usually prevent him from getitng sapped and if the rogue goes for it he's going to be the one getting caught in the process. Both options of the rog sapping FC and getting caught out or sapping you into sapping the FC and you blink nova him out, seem pretty bad for the rogue. But if your FC is a retard and walks away from you while you are in that 8 second sap and he gets swap into another 8 second sap later on, he's prob going to end up dying, you can only do so much.

You have nova you have poly you have insane damage, so on defense, you are fucking super scary. And thats enough to even deter most attackers without a healer along side them.

Ye. That makes sense. What I've found playing mage is that you're very rarely capable of outright killing something alone Vs coordinated healers, but nobody in their right mind wants to stand within 40 yards of you for longer than a few seconds. You stop people going around you, you contain people, and the threat of your potential damage is often more valuable than the damage itself.
