EU+US Mt Hyjal - how to get there? Other hard to reach places...

The Beast Within
Is it possible to get to Mt Hyjal as a Vet without needing a Mage or Loc to port you there? While waiting the horrible queue times, I like to explore different areas, and pick up flight paths etc, but it seems impossible to get to Hyjal.

I have access to Goblin Gliders, but can't seem to find anywhere to jump from that is near high enough. Managed to get some distance up from Winterspring, but just not high enough to get over.

I don't have any P2P friends that can help me :( so was wondering if there was any way in without getting ported. Anyone know any tricks?

To be honest, happy to take tips for reaching difficult places without ports / locks, not just Hyjal. What about Vashj'ir etc. Made it to Dinosaur land the other day - lol. Why, cause it's there ;)

Also found a Spirit Beast on the way to Dinoland.

Any tips for reaching Hyjal or other difficult places would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

You used to be able to get into Mt Hyjal from Winterspring zone, all the way south past the giants. Had to jump a bit but it wasn't bad. People used to farm cata greens there before the expansion came out, they were insanely powerful. I tried to get in there on mage not too long ago and couldn't. Not sure if it remember path or it changed... Just kept falling down cliff.

Thanks Hashbrowns. I'll try giving that a go. I did tried from the western end heading east in Winterspring. I didn't get to the southern end, but will give that a go. Would love to snag a flight path in Mt Hyjal :p

As far as I know Hyjal is not doable as a Vet/f2p alone. Also because if you die you end up at a graveyard in another zone (Azshara? Ashenvale? Can't remember atm).

I did all the Northrend exploration (yay - ugly tabard!) without help. Took a lot of dying (even a lot of dying as a ghost:)) and a lot of Goblin Gliders (Thanks Blingtron).

When exploring Outland I just found two insolvable problems: Throne of Kil'jaeden on Hellfire Peninsula and Forge Camp: Terror / Forge Camp: Wrath in Blade's Edge Mountains. Everything else is possible as a f2p. (Again I loved my Goblin Gliders).

Next will be Uldum and Twilight Highlands (the only 2 zones from Cata doable as f2p).
Then Pandaria. Has anyone already made a list of things reachable in Pandaria without help? Most f2p I know did their Pandaria-achievements with p2p/Sandstonedrake-help...

Greetings,
Dimmu.

As far as I'm aware, unless you are a Monk, you cannot get to Pandaria without a Port from a Mage or Loc. I was lucky enough to have a 90 Mage Port me to the main city in Pandaria, and from there I have been able to explore a lot of places.
Also helps if you have a Azure Water Strider or someway to travel quickly across water. Without it I'm not sure you can make it to Timeless Isles or the Dinosaur place to the very north. I'm still running around Pandaria, and have noticed also some of the flight paths are either Phased out and you can't see them, or there is one that appears inaccessible because of it's height. So there are some hard to reach places. Still, after many deaths and gear repairs, I'm slowly getting through Pandaria without assistance from a high level toon.
Some fun location snaps from Pandaria recently :-

I personally think Pandaria still has the nicest landscapes from all the X-Pacs.

Hashbrowns ur a legend. I racked my brains trying to navigate the southern part of Winterspring, and after many falls and deaths by giants I eventually found the path through to Mt Hyjal. It is indeed doable by Vets/F2P.
But my excitement was short lived. I fell off the beam, and then ran my a$$ off with speed pot but died very soon after, and got freaking rez'd in Ashenvale. Chose the 10min debuff than going for a long run
Next mission - how to get to one of the flight paths without dying!

I'm sure you know but if your pet attacks first the mob will aggro to him instead of you. Disengauge, pet attack, Heart of Phoenix, pet attack again, speed pot... Can get you decently far. If you can get in front of them they will form a nice line behind you and maybe hydra, or something with some aoe, can pull them all. Gl

I can fly you to one of the flightpaths there sometime. No real reason for me not to, since I'm in that area nearly a dozen times a week.

Unless you just wanna do it yourself, that is.

Thanks guys. Hey Taco, that would be appreciated if ur around when I'm on. More than happy to sneak a flight there if possible, but will keep trying in the meantime.
I did have u on Battlenet but not sure if I still do :(
My battle tag is Icehawk#1308.

Question regarding the valley of the four winds: the last place I can't get to is Kunzen Village.
Has anyone explored this without p2p help?
Read some wowhead comments stating you can use dying/ghost gryphon a few times in the valley of eternal blossoms to get up the mountain north of Kunzen but I didn't manage to do that without phasing into the valley of the four winds and ending up at the wrong spirit healer there...

Any ideas?

(Nope, won't use 2-seater mount, want to do it on my own.)

Greetings.

All right, found my way to Kunzen:
The lowest gap between the valley of the four winds and the valley of eternal blossoms is in the mountain range between mist fall village and the tu shen burial ground.
The gap is even so low that 1x dying/ghost gryphon is enough.
Just be careful when jumping down into the valley of the four winds, proper aiming is required to survive the fall and you don't discover Kunzen just by falling down;)
Or just use the explorer's best friend: the goblin glider...

Greetings.

Thanks Dimmuborgir for the advice how to get to Kunzen. I still haven't completed my Pandaria exploration. I've picked up a heap of flight paths, but haven't gone back in to get the missing sections. One question of Pandaria, in Krasarang Wilds there is a section with like a pink dome over it. Is there anyway with a F2P/Vet to get into it? I see some crystals or something you can use, but not sure if there is a way to turn off that dome. I recall being inside that as a 90 at one point, but can't recall if there was a quest to get in there.
On another note, I'm still needing some help with Hyjal. Yes, I know it's awfully painful, you only get one chance and if you die it's off to Ashenvale FFS. I can't seem to get past some demon camp before the Gates of Sothan to try and pick up my first flight path in there. Anyone had experience in getting past that demon camp? Problem is there are some flying ones which you can't outrun. Been trying to look for a high point to Glider off but can't seem to find that either in that vicinity. If anyone has had any luck with this, please fill me in ;)

Not sure if you can see from this snip, but I can get to just north of the Gates of Sothan but struggle in the section circled in red.

edit : doing some research it appears the flight path at Gates of Sothan may actually be phased out for us. Can any F2P / Vet confirm this. If so, need to work out another flight path to get to

Yeah, you need to have done the quest chain there to unlock this flight path.

And you can get to Vashj'ir alone from the westernmost point near Wetlands. But you might need a sea turtle or some other swim speed buff to escape fatigue.

I'm unsure if monks are able to access Pandaria outside their temple zone without mage or lock support. I recently tried getting out of that temple zone on a F2P monk by "stepping down" the cliffs facing north, but as soon as I was able to phase to a new zone from doing that, I was immediately teleported back up, with one of the monk NPCs saying the world "out there is too dangerous for you."

How to get to vashjir without help?(to tabard)

It's easier as Alliance, cause you can get a swim speed buff from a quest in Azuremyst Isle. As Horde, you might need a turtle, Waterstrider or several swim speed pots to make it across in time.

Or be a Druid.

Have you tried the darkmoon cannon?

I saw a video once of a monk dying and rez'ing out in the world. That's how he got out into Pandaria. I've never done it but I saw how he did it. I'm assuming it's still possible.
