Hahaha, nice work. Got there in the end.
I still shudder when I hear the word Mt Hyjal....... the number of times I raged when ghost walking from Ashenvale, before the days u could ghost rez after a bg queue.

Excellent! That's the reason I made the trip this time - looks great on my Tauren.

I re-read my guide post. I wrote it twice and the first time definitely put this in - then got distracted half way through and had to start again. I forgot this important stage second time around. Sorry. I've now edited it to be complete.

The benefit of queuing for both Random BG & Dungeon is that if one or other pops before you are ready, you can turn down the invite & take more time. If you can choose your spec this affects your queue time as well. I queue healer so Random Dungeons can take about 5 minutes to pop. (Tank faster DPS slower.) BGs as has been said 5-10.

    Hope that helps. ;)

Just like you icehawk, at first I tried to corpse-walk through Mount Hyjal. After realizing how atrocious my journey to Nordrassil was (especially ghost-walk from ashenvale to hyjal), I started to look for some alternative routes.
Then a few days ago I was able to discover the BG/dungeon shenanigan FiveSpice provided..woooo!

I heard some rumblings recently about Pandaria and how to get to the Ship in the air. Well, for Ally...... I don't know what the Horde questline is, all you need is the Cannon, and 1 x Glider and you'll be in the air, and on your way to the ship.
From Zhu's watch, you can follow a track which wraps around a tall mountain. Follow it up past the goats....

The map above shows the location halfway up the mountain.
You can get up without incident, I did it the 2nd time no worries, but watch out for the bird that circles near the top. It has a taste for us 20's.......

Shield spike to face....ahhh, beak.... you nasty birdie.....

Anyhow, if you tuck yourself next to the statue, you'll avoid aggro'ing the little birdie.

    Launch from this height......
    WoWScrnShot_053120_185504.jpg
    Pop a glider......
    WoWScrnShot_053120_185515.jpg
And you'll be on the ship in no time.....;)

Can do it without problems with a turtle mount (or any mount/attribute that ups your swim speed), which you could fish as f2p. Surprisingly, I fished mine at Darkmoon, though Northrend is the usual place.

(First post) Really helpful info; as f2p, I could find no physical route to get into Hyjal (could only get there by resurrecting on the edge of Frostwhisper just outside the zone). Corpse walking from #"%& Ashenvale got me nowhere; your tip finally got me to Nordrassil.

    Couple of points:

    1) For the Hyjal ghost run (NB 'standard' WoW, not Classis), I found you could just run into, or even to the northern edge, of Frostwhisper Gorge. Dying there means your spirit pops up on the 'right' side of the Gorge to get into Hyjal (no need to track north). Then you can resurrect & queue for a BG or Dungeon to die & run as a ghost to Nordrassil. Best to list yourself as DPS to maximise wait/run time.

    2) Although I use it sparingly, ghost dungeon running is a useful alternative to corpse running,e.g. for getting into opposing faction capitals, or for avoiding ressurecting when you do want be where your spirit resurfaces.

    3) You can use the BG/Dungeon queue to extend swimming range. Get a queue time as close to, but within, your exhaustion + spirit release time, swim out, probably die. Go to dungeon when it pops, return 'refreshed', keep swimming, and try repeating (my spirit got auto-released after one cycle, probably as I tried to join the dungeon queue when dead elsewhere).

Obviously, you can shorten queue time by signing up as a tank or healer, but this means you either have to be capable of the role, or you'll p#¤ off the pick-up group!

There is 1 physical route to Hyjal, but it’s not immediately obvious. It’s near a gorge and some giants if I recall. When u get there it looks as if u can’t do it, but if u jump around, eventually u can get over it.
How do I know, because I did it like 100 times when doing the darn Ashenvale run pre-dungeon/bg rez’ing

just in case anybody haven't seen my guide https://www.wowhead.com/guide=7294 you are welcome to check it out, particularly the exploration section. it contains the f2p exploration tips mentioned in this thread and some more.
btw, to get the universal explorer achievement (and the grand title!) as f2p you need only 2 summons (deepholm and quel'danas) and the rest is possible solo. the guide will not tell you how to get to bfa zones though, because it's not fully legal atm, but it is not hard to find this info and complete the job.
i have visited all the places for the title, so if you happen to have any trouble reaching a location don't hesitate to ask.
e.g. have you all been to frosthold and seen elder fargal? both tricks 8.1. and 8.2. in the guide allow you to do that.
or e.g. have you been on top of the twin colossals and got a colossal parachute? your favourite darkmoon cannon allows you to do that (approach from north, 2-3 lucky jumps needed).

Thanks; after just a quick scan the guide looks very useful as it shows you what is possible and the tweaks that make stuff feasible. Darkmoon Cannon is high on my 'wanted' list, but failed so far (2 Darkmoons).
Will read guide closely, and carry on trying to notch this stuff up, and maybe add some gen. Yesterday, finally got another Blingtron 6000 teleport; dropped me at Gallywicks for instant death... darn.
Druid class also have the teleport return to Moonglade, which is reassuring when you're on a different and unfamiliar planet.
