EU+US Level 80 & 85 Soloing

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

couldn't understand the 25H Lich King video...What happened in phase 2? :)

Damage. Lots and lots of damage. I peaked at 6.6 million dps.

So what gave you 3mil vengeance on LK?

Put simply, a rather massive error in the formula that calculates vengeance. It's there (and I imagine not completely worth the gain to fix since it's such a "big" error), but it has a niche of basically only protection paladins with extremely-high mastery levels, which are only obtainable at 80.

Do you have passive 70% mastery or only with windsong?

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

Sounds like I should start cracking on a mastery set.

I spent too much time working on an avoidance set, which I should test out on the Darkmoon Rabbit to see how it plays out. (104.2% avoidance w/ Kings, no consumables)

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

You can easily get over that (bearing in mind you need as much as possible since the rabbit (I think) counts as 93 (means you need 133%)

Yup, after further research, the rabbit would be a level 93 since he was introduced in the MoP 5.0 patch.

Against mobs 2 levels above, 103% avoidance is needed.

Against mobs 3 levels above, 104.5% avoidance is needed.

After 4+, I do not know if it scales linerally or exponentially. Linear would suggest 119.5%, while 133% would suggest exponential scaling.

I am pretty sure the 119.5% mark can be reached easily with gear, but I am unsure about the 133% mark. At this point, I would need about 29% more avoidance - which may be only possible with H ICC 25 (helm, gloves, belt), H RS 25 (boots), and a swap from Inscription to Alchemy - and even then, I am unsure if thats enough to put me over.

At 174 mil health, given about 20k dps for an 80 (which would need to stack 22.5% hit, 30% expertise roughly), it would take over 2.5 hours to solo... and thats if his ability can be dodged/parried and that nobody attempts to reset him on you. Sounds like someone might have their work cut out for them if they want to attempt it.

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

Those numbers aren't right at all. In fact, neither were mine. The avoidance cap for a +3 boss Is 109% (+1.5% per avoidance per level) Assuming that this number doesn't change beyond +3 (83 in our case), the avoidance cap for 93 would be 13 * 3% = 139%. Hit does increase after +3 (to something like 11% per level) so its not exactly likely, especially since the large number of in game bleeds from boss-level mobs aren't avoidable (gormok, bloodboil etc)

Probably worth an attempt though

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

Looks fun this soloing, Dnt rly think rogue is a solo class wich is only twink i have atm :I any suggestions for a class wich could be intresting to solo with? not saying none of this is a challenge for you guys, seems like it is rly :D but if not any other classes can rly solo good id prob lvl a prot pala, looks rly fun.

was thinking myself and havent seen any hunter solo stuff like this since the new MOP gear, but would an 85 hunter perhaps be better to solo content with (speaking 85 content ofc). just a thought :D

Does inscription do anything at all? Considering you can't use new shoulder enchants until 85, its only bonus would be the cata enchant. Alchemy+lw is probably the way to go.

If you survive him, you will have way more than 20k dps due to huge amounts of vengeance (he does hit like a truck).

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

Inscription does give a benefit. Although Alchemy/Leatherworking is better for pure avoidance.

Alchy > Inscription by far, avoidance stacking or not. I just haven't built up quite enough herbs to make the swap without having a dead profession spot. (Too much time on my 90, honestly.)

RE: Damage output

Yes, Vengeance will shoot through the roof. My concern is landing consistant hits on a mob 13 levels higher. I can't find any tables showing +4 and +5 levels above for melee hit/expertise, but for casters, its around 28% hit needed for +4, 39% needed for +5. If it follows linerally after +5 at the same rate between +4 and +5, a caster will miss 100% of the time against a mob +11 levels above with 0 hit rating.

Re: Level 80 Soloing Thread

What does inscription give? All it does is allow you to use cata special shoulder enchants, which is 130 str/25 crit instead of 40 ap/15 crit (or 195 stam/25 dodge instead of 20 dodge/22 stam). Not even close to "normal" professions providing 320 str or 480 stam.

It does go up by 11% per level for casters (up to a certain cap, like 95% miss is the maximum IIRC), but for melee its 1.5% per level all the way (for miss, dodge and parry each).

So you mean you found the table on these boards? Neat.
