SO im gearing up a hunter now and I don't have to tell you what dropped first..… unreal. Just unreal.

edit- AND it turns out that boss doesn't even drop anything I need for a hunter anyway. Skipped it after that.

@Knightfall

Yes;

* Both run out and party leader resets instance.
* This is an alternative version of the jump I mentioned:
* Blood furnace skip 00 - 02min:
* Ten runs an hour because of instance reset limit.
* Make sure to confirm that 59 actually gets loot in inbox as this may vary depending on method and type of instance. Easiest way is to have a clean inbox and look for the mail icon as soon as you exit the instance.

1/24 probability times ten = 41.67% chance to obtain the boots. As @jwl points out it's only worth it if the instance allows fast runs. Ten Hellfire Ramparts runs can be done probably below 15 mins, maybe ten. But other dungeons are far slower, which becomes tedious and not worth it.

The math doesn’t work quite that way. You aren’t increasing your odds per drop. A 20% drop rate, is a 20% chance each time it drops. Doing this 5 times does not necessarily mean you’ll get the item within 5 attempts. Now, a carry can speed up the number of attempts you make at those 20% rolls.
The fastest way, is a 4-5 man gear stack. 5 plates... 5 leathers... 4 mail, 1 tank... 4 cloth, 1 tank. All the same level (except off class can be different, but should be less than 10 levels over content scaling).
@jwl mentioned the 1 carry, with the gear stack. This is also fast... but I have terrible luck with RNG, so I try not to avoid legacy loot.

The mathematics and probability I used is all theoretical.

And it is worth mentioning, that mail / cloth users can also successfully run 5 mans without a tank. There is actually no reason 3* good DPS of any armor class cant successfully complete a dungeon. But ultimately, stacking armor classes is the best way to farm gear, as I've mentioned in other post.

I'm 100% in agreement with stacking the same armor class-- wouldn't be a problem in the 19s for me, but I'm new to the 59 community and have only one other 59 friend atm so it is solo runs for me most of the time. Need to meet more people from the 59s community before I can start utilizing the 5-of-same-armor-class method.

Join the communities. Every day on Horde side, multiple people are looking for groups

Has anyone else had insanely low drop rates (or insanely shitty luck) with Ironsole Clompers? I'm going to stay on the grind, but holy **** I hate these boots. No exaggeration I've probably run this place 60 times. I don't remember them ever being this annoying to get in the past.

While this is indeed out of the ordinary, it really is terrible RNG. A buddy 59 racked up over 100 runs for his Bloody Surgeon's Mitts out of Blood Furnace. We saw that drop multiple times while gearing up other toons, including alts of his.

@jwl How's the Alliance Community? Currently my prepped 59 Pally is Ally. My priest will be Horde.

I actually mained alliance a few months back, and it was fairly strong. Their core groups seems to have died down though.
As of late, I've been seeing a lot more 59 twinks on alliance, and would like to see them grow further. Bracket is Horde-Heavy atm

ye we got stomped lol

I can finally BG now that I got my boots about an hour ago lol. So far it's looking pretty good. Now I feel strong enough about completion to go put myself in the 59s Armory XD.

Each run is independent of each other, so this qualifies as binomial probability:

If the chance of an item dropping is exactly the same as 23 other items, then we get this calculation:
https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=binomial+distribution+n=10+p=1/24

which results in a probability of 34.66% to get at least one success (one specific item).

If you increase the number of runs to 100 the chance becomes 98.58%, which means that its possible to still miss out on the item, its just very improbable.

I'm not sure about the math, but I just got my boots finally this afternoon with the help of my guildy. He did the DH skip and we ran Ramparts like 10 times in five minutes. Checked my mailbox and got two pairs of boots.
