30 is a good level. You get raids. I've got a 30 Balance Druid, Affliction Warlock and my main Frost Mage going. 10/11s are just for quick dungeons(what few from each expansion they get) and most are just griefers anyways. Don't limit yourself to ruining from A to B and make 30s.
if you have sub, then you can make many different level players .. you can make 30s and perhaps 40s as well .. i am working on 4 new pallys and 4 new dks all in the 40s .. still farming the 12 str + 12 stam gems everyday .. drop rate is fairly low .. but if you managed to fully equiped these gems, you get a lot of health and primary stats, like really a lot more, so far i can solo most dungeons that i can get in for my level, and i dont die easily as a solo ret pally, if you are a fury warrior, just the 3 sockets on weapons (x2) is an extra 72 str + 72 stamina .. considering Crow Reaper at lvl41 (ilvl202) has only 30 str/47 stamina/45 crit. the added strength is already more than the weapon itself.. getting the gems is a pain, but at least you can run through the whole dungeon everyday without needing to do much, dont need to chromie, just set to heroic .. farming the socket bc gears are very quick too, the dungeons pop quite frequently

Would I be able to solo content if I was lvl 10 or 11 for example? I understand I currently cannot due to being a rogue, but even still if I lower the level on my char, would it be possible?
Would you please elaborate on the lifegems, which gems exactly are you referring to and would they work decent on my 29 rogue?
