I checked forums and it said it happens a lot, just not with gold, items, yes.

To be fair, as someone who used to deal in account sales and trades of numerous games on some of the biggest boards for it (Markee,MMObay/epicnpc,PA,etc), I have to say the amount of scammers out there is sky high.

There's a reason those sites have verification process, rep, TrustWho requirements, etc.

Even with evidence, Blizzard will not cover for any scam occurring with these kind of trades. Just a heads-up on that. All you can do is name-and-shame. There are communities for this, at least on EU. Look up WoW Easy Street. Idk if there's a US community with the same name.
