Guide to 300 gear at 110, which quest lines

I think i just got confused yesterday compared to my previous runs because i started with another zone this time. But all in all i got a couple of pieces of 300 now so it's good. I soloed two bosses before on my hunter in freehold (first and last) but now i went in on my DH and soloed 1, 3&4, sadly i didn't get any drops on the DH. I was really lucky on my hunter and got the trinket on first. (I play horde)

 

Just wanted to confirm that Izesells is bang on correct. I tried everything mentioned in every thread to get a specific piece to up 300, and once I had obtained 2 azerite 280s from Drust and 1 from Tiragarde Sound, the remaining ones tuned up to 295.

 

Hey guys, so I wanted to add onto this since I've had the opportunity to test it on two more characters alliance side and really focus in on when it changes over to 295.

So I did drustvar fully, accepting both 295 pieces, and the first azerite quest in tiragarde sound. I had previously thought the dungeon quests played a role in this but, I don't think that's the case. It's story completion (or well getting 4 azerite pieces from quests ((not scrolls quest.))) So I tested this and rushed half of tiragarde and got the dungeon quest done there, as well as drustvar, expecting my rewards to change to 295 being offered after abandoning quest and logging out/back in. This didn't work at all. I *HAD* to finish a 4th storyline and receive another 280 piece before I had the remaining pieces swap to 295. So I completed the pvp campaign, which i usually save to be a 295, but since i'm faction changing, i'll have another opportunity at one anyways.

Once the 4th quest was completed that rewarded a 280, excluding scrolls quest, so in this case, 2x drustvar, 1x tiragarde, and 1x war campaign. I was able to abandon the 2nd tiragarde quest, relog, and then the rewards showed as 295 instead (note: just abandoning *DID NOT* work. I HAD to relog. I was getting pretty worried I had wasted a 295 pvp piece thinking it wouldn't contribute to the completion but luckily it did.)

This is just a side note for those having issues getting the 280 to swap to 295 after having 4 quests done ^like above. One thing that helped the swap that I had to do as well was to clear up to the next piece in stormsong (so just go do the 2 quest chapters so I had that first azerite quest as well). That quest showed as 295 right away when I got it, then abandoning the 2nd tiragarde quest and relogging made the other show as 295. I'll be honest, I didn't relog before this point so I can't be sure it was the relog, or getting that next azerite quest in my log that pushed it to swap over.



I'll try to give a breakdown in an easier to read format for those looking at a glance

Here's my zone order:
Drustvar (Chapters completed 1-7)

(This one I feel is irrelevant,i'v never had it under 295 even when it was the first thing I did)

Tiragarde sound (first half, chapters completed: 1-2, and 7)

Stormsong Valley (first half, chapters completed: 1-2)
5: 295

Tiragarde sound (second half, Chapters completed: 1-4, and 7)
6: 295

(My neck level was 11 during this, for those that might want that info)

Hope this helps those looking to get certain traits and plan accordingly.

 

I just relogged on mine to get them to up to 295... but im not sure if I did it one quest too late. Next time thru i'll relog after every azerite quest turn-in just to double check.

edit- I held off on the PvP one to get a 295 reward from that, had I piece I wanted.

Good info. Someone should be able to turn this into a full guide with horde and alliance specifics (which chapters/questlines reward things and such), wowhead links to the actual rewards, etc so that its really easy for a new 110 to be able to come in, do a little research into traits on their own, and then plan their path based on the actual rewards/traits.

 

Yes. Just so you know, at 117 the dungeon azerite drops (and maybe even NPC-rare azurite drops) jump to 295.

As soon as you receive your 3rd azerite piece reward from story progress through all zones (dungeons drops, treasure chests one, war campaign don't count) all your further pieces become upgraded to 295

 

Is it three, or four, because i have done three and the fourth is showing at 280 still. I have drustvar 10/10 and tiragarde 4/7 and both the second tiragarde azerite item and the pvp azerite item are showing as 280 still. (tried relogging/abandoning)

 

I just got another char through, and I was at the same point you were now. Tried relogging and everything possible to not have to finish the pvp campaign quest, but after turning that in and relogging. My final drustvar and both tiragarde sound pieces were 295. Before that, with last drustvar and first tiragarde in log, along with war campaign quest, it would not swap to 295, relogging, abandoning etc didn't work for me to push it, so I do think the pvp campaign quest is factored in to this and it's just completing 4 story quests (including pvp campaign if you want that at 285 instead and rather get a story armor at 295 in it's place). My experience, but i tried everything I could and no luck.

 

Hmmm, maybe that's 4 then as i've done war campaign one aswell. I just though it didn't count. Maybe i was wrong or maybe Alliance has something different. Horde can only get 6 pieces of azerite (2 for each zone) + 1 from War Campaing.
Can alliance hoard more?

 

Nope each zone is 2. + scrolls + war campaign (1). So I think it's just after 4, i'v done 3 story + war campaign to hit my 4, and i'v done 4 story and both times, it went to 295 after, so i think war campaign counts and it's just whatever of the last 3 that will be 295. (so of the 6 story/1 war campaign, the last 3 done will be 295)

 

I got the PvP to bump to 295 on my hunter so it's not a prerequisite... try doing any dungeon quests and relogging.

edit- I do see what you're saying but just offering that it's not mandatory, I preferred the PvP armor over one of the storyline pieces.

And stormsong valley? How far were you on that? Takes all three zones progressed, seems at least one "full" and the other two "most" I would say?

 

Oh yeah, I meant that it counts towards it if you want, so you can get 3 of the storyline pieces at 295 instead. Like it's either or.

With 7 total quests rewarding azerite gear (I'm excluding scrolls quest), the last 3 of those are 295. It's up to you how you do the order but seems that's the case. I like the pvp chest a lot since resounding shield is awesome

So:
Drustvar 1

Stormsong 1
Stormsong 2

Tiragarde 1
Tiragarde 2

Pvp Campaign 1

^ Pick 3, then figure out how to do the order so you have the 4 you didn't choose completed before those 3, if it isn't possible, you'll have to rethink which ones you aim for.

 

I think that's how it works too, and hopefully you don't want the first one in each zone.

So I got there today, last 4 pieces all 280.

5/7 tiragarde
6/10 drustvar
3/8 stormsong
battlefront quest

I had already completed the freehold dungeon quest as you get that before the azerite quest turn-in.

Turned in stormsongs cuz I didn't like the rewards much, all the other 3 jumped to 295 without logging out.

edit- there's A LOT of storyline left there, maybe you can get all 4 if you finish more chapters... I didn't care tho. Not interested.

 

I've having trouble finding the azerite reward options. I found that wowdb has some listed for drustvar, but couldn't find any others.
