Growing and protecting and growing the 20-24 bracket

There's a word or a phrase to describe what you're doing here, but it escapes me. Basically, you're putting on this air of confidence, trying to make those who visit this forum believe that the number of dedicated 24s is growing (refer to earlier posts on why the 20/24 ratio will remain the same), and that we ought to join you. The fact of the matter is that this bracket will remain 85% level 20s despite your best efforts, and the majority of them will be first time players who you steamroll with your monstrous crutch while pretending to search for balanced matches. If you REALLY wanted balanced matches in a low level bracket, you'd roll 19 or 29.

Imputing others intentions has never been done before. You sir are a pioneer...

The truth is this forum and its readers represent such a tiny percentage of players one would be deluded to think statements here change the game in any way. My intention here is to find others who get it. My voice server has many new visitors, now friends who get it thanks to my posts here and elsewhere. They are not trolls or butt hurt free players with one angry perspective. We are arranging 10v10 play and establishing connections that over time can change our game and possibly the greater game in time. Time will tell the story. Will you be open to accepting it? I will.

Making statements about what people really want in the face of facts and their previous replies suggests it is an argument. I am open to discussion with a different understanding reached but only with facts and people willing to do the same. I have an answer one last time and than have no more for you as you fail to comprehend anything but your limited perspective. 19s are dying and have slow pops. 29s do not get pops with any regularity, let alone daily queues. I get where you are coming from so here is a statement you might be able to comprehend. If you REALLY want a balanced match in a low level bracket you would pony up and make a 24 twink like us, show some social skills, organize some 10v10 and have some edge of seat competition like we do. ;)

I'm probably going to sound like a troll but i really want to know the following. Why are people so attracted to balanced twinking? What would an active 29 bracket have that 85s don't have. I know endgame is boring and all (reason why i stopped) but to me it does seem to have everything the lower level brackets have and more. I see why f2ps are "twinking" and why 24s do. But where does this balanced twinking need come from?

In answer to your questions...

1. Can't speak for everyone else, you would have to ask each for their own reason. Generally speaking they "like edge of seat" competition. I do, and playing with players who know your tricks and counter them which in turn makes you try new stuff is intense and crazy good fun. We laugh a lot.

2. Low level PvP twinking is quick to get a character up and running. Speed is important to me as I introduce new players to the game on a regular basis. The greatly reduced time investment helps in that the people I know are extremely busy people. They have very limited time but either have gamed before and want to get back in or want to give it a try. Gear obtained by twinks often lasts much longer than gear obtained by endgame characters also reducing the time commitment.

3. People need a challenge. Once they reach the top rung players get bored. Playing other players who have similar gear changes every time you play and eliminates the crutching arguments (gear, levels, class, etc). PvE is about learning the pattern and then repeating it. PvP is about adapting on the fly to new situations and is anything but dull or boring.

20-24 bracket is basically the same twinking was pre xp on bgs. There would be 3-4 twinks on each side fighting it out and everyone else as support. Unlike then though the amount of damage anyone can put out is through the roof.

I agree and have described this same concept often to people who ask about 20-24s.

To those that say we easy mode...we don't roll 20's. We beat opposing teams made up of 20-24 just like ours. As mentioned before, many times we will have less DPS and healing yet still pull out the win. That is a challenge as it is not easy to do and we find that fun. We also seriously enjoy catching up with opposing teams that are graveyard camping ours...and taking their win and making it ours. Also, not easy to do...

JMO.
I dont play max level because I have a job and dont have time for the constant gear grind. I would rather twink and be geared then the constant carrot on a stick blizz makes you chase.
Why do people twink 1-84, all the diff brackets? This bracket is one of the most active, why not play it.

This is exactly why I have become interested in Twinking and why this bracket appeals to me and not 70s. I work and have a family, so I only play about 7--10 hours a week. I have just 1 level 85 and do not care to learn to master or gear any alt classes at high level. But with low level I can branch out from my main's class. Also with my limited play time I have no desire to sit in long queues

I play a 20. Almost all of my matches are balanced. Exceptions include when premades I organize (in response to your command that I organize) face really bad PUGs (but because I allow only 20s in our premades, we still generally get an even match vs PUGs) and when we face 24 premades. As for showing social skills.... I manage an entire community.

I will say, I've ran into a lot of 20 F2P Groups from Vashj, and I must say they have all been delightful. It's nice group of players you got there, best of luck to you.

I respect your effort there. Good luck finding a group of Horde 20s to 10v10 with. With the eye patch and leather and mail gear advantage the allies have it will be tough to find. Maybe you could set aside your gear advantage in such an event in order to facility interest? I don't know as my F2P is not ready yet and there are only a few Horde I see with any regularity. I will ask Holycooww on Anub'arak.

Premading WSG on Horde side you will obviously not meet most Horde premades. And certainly no 10-mans. This is also where I think the "Faction has more 24s" myths stem from.

Anyway, Vashj vs AP is always fun! Hope to see more, Lich. :)

And that's the thing. We play 20s, so we don't need to find Horde premades to get balanced matches.

LOL @ balanced just because of level similarities. You see yourself and your Ally characters as equal despite your gear advantages. Almost victim mentality when you consider how OP the gear advantage really is F2P on F2P. It is definitely delusional and self servicing. The Allies have the following quest gear that has no corresponding Horde gear.

At 20 Allies can get the following BiS gear of which there is no Horde equivalent*:
  1. Riot Stick - Item - World of Warcraft
  2. Rifle Commander's Eyepatch - Item - World of Warcraft
  3. Shield of the Stockades - Item - World of Warcraft
At 21-24 Allies have this BiS gear of which there are no Horde equivalent*:
  1. Barechus' Greaves - Item - World of Warcraft
  2. Ashen Gloves - Item - World of Warcraft
  3. G-Team Belt - Item - World of Warcraft
  4. Aluwyn's Legguards - Item - World of Warcraft
If you are finding what you call "balanced matches" Horde F2P with such advantages you sir and those running with you can officially be called "baddies" and I almost never use that term. 24s roughing you up and your teams "feelings" is quite possibly karmic. Your delusional state simply can't see how if the shoe was on the other foot you would quite possibly have a different argument. I have characters and guilds...plural on both factions and PvP daily and have deliberately kept a 3rd account off my Bnet so I can be anonymous as I do my rounds. It allows me a more complete perspective.

I wish you well but you will get no respite from me when you foist such tripe upon my topic. I commend you for not being a troll, other than that get real.

P.S. the above list does not include gear that is BiS till you get the Charged Gears or satchel items. That too has Alliance advantages with things like*:
  1. Yorgen's Boon - Item - World of Warcraft
  2. Felbane Belt - Item - World of Warcraft
*list not limited to

There is irony here, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

Someone want to take a shot at that drivel?

There is a lot of material :) Ripe, juicy goodness.

I would, but I feel my sarcasm would eventually hit a point of diminishing return, resulting in all the townsfolk chasing me down with torches and pitchforks.

Critster, ran into a 4 man (I could be wrong, maybe it was 3 or 5? Haha I don't remember) of yours last night. You were not playing but all your Horde Invasion guys seemed really chill. Although the game was stupid easy (which I wasn't exactly wanting), I was impressed since you guys capped the flags fast and got the game over with.

Ohh and your Osiris (or w/e his name is) wrecks f*king havoc on everything. Me and swagbag just charged into a full group of ally with only him and guess which side survived? Dual Pocket healing at the right time!

Thanks for recruiting some cool guys.

Edit:Was just looking through the guild, and I didnt see this Osiris guy, maybe real ID? O well.

Thanks for noticing. It is my belief that birds of a feather flock together. Building a guild on good people is the best way to avoid problems for just being a greatly skilled player does not mean you do much for anyone else. Osiris is Corey and is a guild charter signatory of Horde Invasion. He is a great player but more importantly a great guy and I am lucky to call him friend.

We are not looking for easy mode either you have to group if you don't want to get pwned by 5+ players grouped up like Honeybadger & Co. That is just the way it is. We twink. Twinking is not about playing down. We do get good games but on the easy modes we hurry it up and do not disrespect our weaker opponent. I have stated before that seeing determined 20s is WAY better for a bracket than epeening punks AFK'ing out of anything for any reason. We are looking to do other things in the bracket but will always be in WSG doing our thing. It is also a great recruitment activity and we also spread the "word". We are at about 20% of our peak activity back in the day of which was one of if not the most active twink guilds ever. With players like Corey and other long time HI returning to Anub'arak the realm has gone from low pop to medium pop...with good reason.

I understand, while I wasn't exactly trying to complain about it being easy, I see what you are coming from. I 2man group with my friend (swagbag) so that it makes it easier for both of us. I found honeybadger and co later that night. Besides getting completely face rolled, it was so much fun in the healing hut with my buddy spamming heals on each-other 5 vs 2 to see how long we could last. See you around!

Thing I have stared todo in easy games is gear myself down and play like that. Its amazing how much gear makes a difference!

Even though I'm no longer in this bracket it's good to see threads like this floating around. Good on you guys, and good luck to the players of the 20-24 bracket.
