Was told by someone that if you log out on directly where the arena chest drops you can steal it as a gnome bc you cant be targeted , true or not ?

I have no evidence to further the argument that I didnt propose. I just feel that it is very unlikely for this to be true

No way this is possibly true, the player model doesnt disappear because a chest spawned over you.

As a level 1 gnome with 2 AGMs I can confidently say, you can not be targeted while in the chest when it spawns, however AoEs will still kill you (Arcane Nova, Consecrate).

Grats on your agms, but anyone who has nameplates could easily target a gnome under chest, also easily auto attack as well. You can be targeted.

Because the crate spawns around you, you can not be attacked directly.

Nope, the walls of the chest are solid, only AoEs will hit through it via the ground. I suggest just making a gnome and trying it for yourself.
