US FIFTY - Classic Raiding done right - We need YOU!

Most casters will be shelved until Pandaria.

Exceptions are Druids or Locks and a Holy Paladin. We need a Banish/Root and Denounce is major.

holy pally isnt a caster, it a healer lol even so the resists will be a huge pain

^we are using holy pallys as shockadins for denounce, so yes, they are casters in our case. Dunno bout locks to be viable tho? only to banish? :/

prob similar to rogues where you need 17% hit for special attacks and a good chunk of expertise. more hit then the 17% for white hits cant hurt, my shaman is 50 since ele wont work out i can try to gear him as enhance. my 85 shaman is enhance anyway, more fun then ele to me. give me a few days to work on gear and such.

so far testing things and creating chardev profiles has been the most fun doing the 50 twinks

Resists shouldn't be too bad considering holy is binary. It either hits for full, or fully resisted no partial resists

Have we confirmed that denounce affects raid bosses yet?

Havent seen confirmation on here or anywhere else on the web. Shouldn't be too hard to test tho, just need a 50 tank and a high lvl hpal to debuff/heal and see if the boss crits

Has anyone tried enhance Shaman?

Enh is probably pretty good. They get 6% free hit for being enh and can talent for 4 exp. in addition they can use the mail/leather gear with expertise and have a relic for an epic gem (hit/exp/agi/stam, etc). So i would expect pretty steady melee dps from them

Alright so, I won't be home until tomorrow morning. I can finish up my own character then, but we've yet to establish a core group for an AQ10 run. if nothing else, I'd like to solidify the roster tomorrow. I'll be making a thread specifically for the run tomorrow, be prepared to secure your spot. Your armory MUST be hitcapped (17%), expertise stacked (as much as you can), and fully BiS. If you can meet these requirements sometime this week and have something to show so far, you can go ahead and apply for a spot.

Remember, we're looking for THREE healers, TWO tanks (one of which will be me), and FIVE DPS (ONE Warlock/Druid, ONE Holy Pally). We are attempting a FULL CLEAR of AQ10, which is why we need Druids for Banish/Root (VERY necessary for one of the bosses).

This is a heads up that we're setting up a final roster and time tomorrow, and aiming to raid the end of this week.

Lets finally get this rolling!

5 DPS 1 lock 1 druid 1 holy pally? holy pally? so then that leaves 2 dps sports for hunters, rogues, war, shamans etc etc etc. heh i know of 2 bis hunters several rogues and wars so this leaves so little room for those who have worked so hard on their characters.

still confused as why we using a holy pally as dps, couldnt they be a healer and cast exorcism for denounce?
Banish only works on Demons and Elementals. not sure how much of either are in AQ10.
Hunters could provide the same amount of CC as a druid with trap launcher and freezing trap.

real worried about the slots we have for DPS and the amount of people we have wanting to go, even more so when you assigning out 3 spots right off the bat.

Because of the miss rate, and denounce lasting 6 seconds, we're going to need them spamming it most of the time considering it needs to be up 100% of the time. We need a Warlock OR a Druid, for either Banish OR Entangling Roots. This is the fight that a Warlock or Druid are most necessary, along with other trash such as the waves for this boss. If our healers turn out too bored or idle then we might be able to try it with a Holy Pally replacing one of our healers (which will likely be 3 Priests for this week's attempt), because I do agree DPS will be an issue. We will likely need to take Hunter/Rogue as our DPS because those are the ones we have tested out that work pretty well so far, as well as Enhancement Shamans (perhaps moreso than Rogues because of Expertise), but I don't think we have any well geared ones. Either way, this is the roster I feel will be best (with a Priest potentially being replaced by a Holy Paladin, letting us take 1 more DPS):

- 2 Warrior Tanks
- 3 Priest Heals (2 Disc, 1 Holy)
- 1 Holy Paladin Denounce Bot
- 1 Warlock/Druid Utility
- 3 Rogue/Hunter/EnhSham DPS

still think hunters can provide as much utility in controlling adds on these fights, been so long since i done aq 10. either way will be fun to go back in not on a 85

as far as enhance shamans go, taking the BIS hunter profile and changing bow to relic you get:
chardev 9
20% hit and 4 expertise with no gem in relic a 20 expertise rating gem offers 10 expertise. changing agi enchants to hit would offer alot more hit as well, will take some testing. tho shamans will prob want mongoose enchants over agi

Hey if we dont have a vent for tommorow would you like me to prepare macros to detail the boss fights? I have done all of the AQ10 fights with 3 60s before and know all their abilitys.

Absolutely. We have Twink Info's vent and we will likely be throwing people in there to discuss the core group and other important information before the actual raid later this week. People who are planning on being in the core roster, be available at some point tomorrow!

isnt there an add-on that already will do this? tho it may only be for cata raids but know there is one for that

as far as being around tomorrow i will be around prob 6 pm central beyond

First fight is the hardest i reckon. Those sand traps will destroy us with their +75% miss cahnce and 15 sec silences :)

We can taunt swap and with proper Vigilance placement, our tanks might even be able to eat a trap or two considering taunt is physical and can't miss (though of course I would hope noone gets caught in them). Absolutely noone else could realistically eat any traps and have us survive the encounter. I'm a bit worried about it myself as I haven't ever tanked the boss so perhaps I should go in there with someone to practice.

Yep well you got the idea, the only other thing we will have to watch is the stacking debuff that reduces healing received by 10% a proc (can stack to 99%-100%).
Do you know the duration of the debuff? It been awhile and if I remember it was around 20 seconds.
This means that it is quite easy 2 do it with 2 tanks that swap agro (if one of em gets a sandtrap we screwed).

Question about this particular Satchel of Helpful Goods.

Wowhead shows that you need to be between levels 55-60 to get this. As some commenters have noted, you can actually get this satchel doing randoms at level 53. I've seen the same thing happen on a shammy I'm leveling, where I got a ring at 33 that wasn't supposed to be available until 35.

Once you turn 59, your randoms force you exclusively into TBC dungeons -- you can no longer run classic dungeons as randoms (though you can queue for them specifically, I believe).

So, my question: If as a 50, you group with a level 58 to do randoms, will that force you into a high enough dungeon to get the Satchel linked above? If 58 ends up being too high to do any randoms, how about 57? 56?

If this works, 50s will not only get access to a belt with great stats, but you'll get a wrath-enchantable cloak.

Edit: according to this entry in WoWWiki, you'll need to be at least 51 if what the WoWhead comments about needing BRD Upper City holds true.

Very nice, although exploits are too unreliable, so I wouldn't touch that. It would make casters more viable for a short period of time then screw us over later if we get used to it.

Queuing with someone higher level does not work, and unfortunately we don't have access to BRD - Upper City, so it's a no-go. If you find a way to make it work, though, I'd love to know. There's no exploit here, receiving it at 55+ is intended. Noone has confirmed receiving it below 55..
