F2P Warrior Gear Guide

Make sure you pick up two Strike of the Hydra's!

Here's some numbers I got from dueling a Fury Warrior with Strike of the Hydra:

50 armor at 12.59% dam red
2her white hit for 128
proced
4 armor with 1.14% dam red
2her white hit for 147

Numbers out of BG.

So it ignore 11.45% or 46 armor. I wonder if the splash scales different in BGs... And if it can proc twice if you DW...
Also is it GFd now? Strike of the Hydra - Item - World of Warcraft no longer has a "Drops From" tab.

Why Collarspike Bracers over Sparkmetal Bracers for Alliance?

Sparkmetal Bracers
10 Armor
+5 Strength
+7 Stamina
+3 Critical Strike

Collarspike Bracers
10 Armor
+7 Strength
+7 Stamina

(semi important to note
Bracers of the Most Trusted
10 Armor
+3 Strength
+7 Stamina
+5 Critical Strike)

So I guess the reason one would question using Collarspike for Alliance, would be that the comparable str stam crit piece on Horde side, when scaled, has 2 less strength than the Alliance piece.

Which is notable, but Collarspike will still better than Sparkmetal because there is a trade off of Strength for crit if you use Sparkmetal. And while yes, the gap has closed by 2 strength, atm, 2 strength is greater than 5 crit with Arms Warrior scaling (For Fury Spark is better, so is Most Trusted... but that's Fury).

Right on. Thanks. Followup question: does Arms benefit most from a full Str build, to the determent of crit? Also, I think I have a pretty balanced toon with 125 Str and 125 Stam, with ~15% crit (and suboptimal tanking BOAs). Is it better to abandon all crit and use the Bear cloak and Str belt?

I'm currently Fury, pretty much because I wanted a Furry Fury, but it's all fluid. I have 2x BAR. Is it worth dropping the second BAR to switch back to Arms? It's a pretty significant stats loss.

I know Arms Rend, but even in Fury, mobs melt so fast that I spam Victory Rush more than anything.

The build path for Arms right now is "Of the Bear" - it's definitely worth cutting off Critical strike pieces in exchange for Strength. Critical Strike doesn't do nearly as much as Strength.

Fury is decent, but Arms is definitely stronger right now.

the idea was to list some viable crit pieces, even if stre scales better

with collarspike vs sparkmetal / most trusted the trade off between stre and crit is much worse than say savage trodders vs gorewalker treads so I didn't bother listing them as collarspike bracers are just flat out better

ill put the other bracers in anyway just so people know they exist

if anyone is interested I just ran some numbers for fury (on average and including enrage)

11.54% crit, 194 stre: http://www.maskedarmory.com/anonymous-wow-armory-profile-280074.html (bear cape & belt)

bloodthirst - 138.67
wild strike - 628.77
execute - 1483.97

16.50% crit, 183 stre: http://www.maskedarmory.com/anonymous-wow-armory-profile-280073.html (soldier cape & belt)

bloodthirst - 135.57
wild strike - 619.82
execute - 1458.67

so crit isn't that great for fury either

Wow, 11 strength outweighs 5% crit?

The buff to Strength:Weapon Damage is really showing...

well the difference is pretty small, looking at the damage on average just seems the most rational way to evaluate it

really it comes down to if you want to sacrifice some guaranteed damage for a chance for more burst

but you should be playing arms anyway ;p
