Access to new Dalaran means that we should be able to purchase saltwater potions etc. Finally something to spend marks on. Would be interesting to see what can be done in the sewers with the guards up too....

That's wild. Maybe the fact that we got recipes before the patch is what makes the difference?

Yeah, I thought so too:

My guess is that the few Pandaren recipes that were available at low cooking skill level (Like 1, 15 and 50 or something) next to the little Tiller Cooking Bazaar triggered us automatically getting Pandaren Cooking since those recipes are exclusive to level 85+ content. Since we knew the recipes (as Starter Edition in my case) we also had to know the base Cooking skill. I have not yet tried to visit that Tiller's Bazaar on a character who has not picked up those recipes.

Doesn't seem to be any silly vanity food (without level requirements) we can make with Pandaren Cooking.

Are they still templates up or does gear enchants trinkets etc counts now?

Why can't I see the topic on how to get to new Dalaran?
Not sure, but just go to Light's Hope Chapel in EP. Once there, go out the north east gate and kite a mob to an area about 20yards from the left/northeast side of the chapel. Let it kill you there. In ghostform, walk into the chapel, and down into the Paladin class hall. Once in the main room, go into the little alcove on the left where you will see the portal to Dalaran. Res and immediately click the portal. If the guards get you, try again but either be faster on the click or get closer to the wall of the alcove.

Still templates, my dude
No template, just scale to 29, meaning:
  • You get a health increase. Either Stamina counts for more health or you are getting an increase in your base health (since you are 29). Or possibly both, I haven't looked.
  • Your secondaries take a hit. It requires more rating to equal the same %. Since you gear stays the same it results in a loss of secondary %, but it's not huge.
  • No hit issues vs 29s
  • Enchants work, gear works, trinkets work. Want a pure haste set, knock yourself out. I hear fire mage with high crit is nice.

I'm curious about DR on secondaries, particularly haste. I wonder if haste may have a different equation than crit or vers. (Or possibly haste just has a higher natural breakpoints even outside BG). Because on a couple toons (perhaps it's dif for each spec?) there was no difference between having 12% or 15% haste. The new Blizz default cast time display in tooltips is only one decimal, so it could be that I'm going (for example) from 1.49 to 1.42 and I just don't know it. But still, I would've assumed a 2.5-3% increase in Haste could buy at least a tenth of a second. At most I've gone from 1.4 to 1.3 second cast times by throwing on all (or most) of my haste gear (note I'm not enchanted). But I can't tell if it was 1.4 to 1.39 or 1.4 to 1.31.

Whereas with crit and verse, I seem to keep getting high improvements.

Ultimately it may be more useful to just post Details from a few games in each type of set, but the inability to theorycraft/sim is something I'd still like to see remedied.

Does anyone have any anecdotal information regarding haste, crit, vers in 8.0?

Also, are there any settings or tooltip addons that can show more precise (e.g. two decimals) cast times or other information? I know they used to exist for Vanilla, but I've never checked for retail.

So F2Ps are now able to get to Broken Isle using this glitch : https://xpoff.com/threads/how-to-get-to-dalaran-f2p-vets.78910/#post-1098080

Do pure F2Ps have access to Honor Levels? Or are we forever level 1?

im level 2 almost 3 now

not sure if anyone has mentioned something like this yet but, the difference between f2p and vet/29 doesn't feel like much

the only things I *notice* are lack of satyr enchant, ele force & movement speed enchants on my f2p shaman as opposed to my enchanted one, the healing/everything else feels great

also- i'm up to honor level 8, going to sleep now though
