Dual Darkwater Talwar is far better than Shadowfang, but Shadowfang hasn't been BiS for quite sometime as F2P.

Shadowfang's proc is pretty awful now.

It's best used as an OH for Outlaw at 19 to proc Ele Force and due to it having high Agi.

At 20 it's pretty much useless, atm.

Okay you are kind of missing the point so i'll rephrase - is Darkwater Talwar BiS with the return of enchants and actives in the battlegrounds? Like the old Shadowfang back in the day.

Shadowfang WAS the best item because it was slower and had higher weapon damage than basically anything else around. The weapon speed normalization happened fairly recently in the grand scheme of things. It also had the high agility AND the proc.

Here's the wowheads from 2015 for the two items (takes a while to load). While Shadowfang requires lvl 19 instead of 20, its 2.7 speed puts the weapon damage at 16-30 which is better than the axe's 15-30. Agility cancels out for both of them. Stam is nice, but really don't come into the equation since damage is what rogues need. Proc is icing on the cake. Shadowfang was better.
