If you want this tourny to be about skill, you will not allow AGMs.

If you don't care about skill and balance and want this tourny to be about something else, then you will allow AGMs.

It's as simple as that. So what is your tourny about?

cut him some slack.....he is volunteering to organize the tournament and said he is open to suggestions on the rules. so if you want to make a suggestion, make an actual coherent argument.

making an arbitrarily association between "no AGMs" and "skill" makes no more sense than equating getting an AGM to "hard work" and "deserving to use it". you guys need to back up your assertions with facts.
 
I don't need to back it up with anything to be honest. And it should be obvious...

All the same, if you want a demonstration of skill you would try your best to level the playing field gear wise. That way people won't be able to attribute gear discrepancies to their loss. Comp dominance notwithstanding... Allowing AGM is bad for many reason outlined in this thread.

there you go, those are actual reasons why it would be a good idea not to allow AGM. it's just that easy! although i think you meant to say "attribute their losses to gear discrepancies".

and what is wrong with 3 dps teams....? you're already banning hunters and rets. why would other 3 dps teams be banned? these two classes are the ones that would make 3 dps teams too straightforward. without them, it just makes no sense to ban 3 dps teams. allowing comps like RMP but not RMlock is silly and makes no sense - priests burst just as hard as a mage or warlock. 3 dps teams are fun and require the most skill to play of all comps; please allow them.

Edit: I think AGM should be allowed because I thought a tourney would be run under the assumption that everyone is BiS, and if they aren't, then they should have gotten it.

The only spec I can think of that AGM would be BiS for is Prot atm, rogues and wars can benefit more from the +haste meanwhile casters should be running with the spell pen trink.

You could probably sign up Silvernight, Bizr & Mialu. Altho, it still depends if it based on EU times aswell and if Bizr can actually make it to the set date.
