immigration is fine

The reason why English isn't dominant in immigrating countries is because there's more actual people who speak English there than immigrants, which scews the numbers. It doesn't mean immigrants don't wanna learn the language of the country they move to. In fact, over half of all immigrants in the US speak English really well. And the immigrant population in the US is over 43 million. So wherever you got the idea that immigrants don't try to learn the native tongue of the country they immigrate to, that shits false. It's a myth. Read any studies done on the percentage of english speaking immigrants and you'd know.

I do think people should assimilate to some extent yes, that’s true of anyone immigrating anywhere. But I’m also supportive of keeping some aspects of your cultural identity too. That’s how I would handle it if I left the US.
My statement though was pragmatic - the fact is if you don’t speak the native language you won’t be that successful. In the end my intent doesn’t matter, but I do actually care. Any group being told they’re victims is being done a disservice and the same people telling immigrants that is also encouraging them to not learn English. THAT is the group that doesn’t care about them yet says they do.

Low living standards? You have no idea what you’re talking about. We’re the richest country in the world and the government steals a smaller % of our money than they do yours because it gives less to mooches like you.

It’s simply not historically accurate to say the US wouldn’t be a country without France. France definitely helped during the war of independence but a) they did so for their own benefiit, b) it’s more likely the war would have just stretched out longer rather than been lost without their assistance and c) even if lost it would have been fought and won a few decades later. Unlike Euros then and now, Americans strives for and are accustomed to freedom. On the other hand, France literally wouldn’t exist if we hadn’t come to their defense in WW2 because they were too cowardly to defend themselves.

The US is not the richest country in the world per capita. Even norway is richer. And they take a lot of immigrants. In fact, in 2017 17% of the entire country was nothing but immigrants.

What is 'even Norway' supposed to mean? Norway is in a similar situation to gulf states such as UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, etc, with a tiny population and large amounts of oil reserves. Not going to the effort to check right now, but its population is what, 7 million? About 50% of its exports are petroleum-based. Apples and oranges.

Exactly. Not to mention that I didn’t say per capita for a reason. Not to mention richest really means wealth rather than income, although in this case both are true.

In short, IQs across populations rise as access to nutrition, health care and education rise. Particularly, as exposure to infectious disease drops, IQs rise.

Which throws into the doubt the very idea that IQ tests measure cognitive ability more than they measure standard of living.

Edit: you ever wonder why IQs in Appalachia are lower than any random suburb?

I see the DPRK as purple on the map yet it's not on list.

probably just an oversight as i doubt they'd have access to conducting IQ tests there
