Wouldn't it be more appealing to new people if we banned GFed gear? It doesn't really hurt you and GFed gear isnt a huge advantage but it might still deter people

This forum lives in the theorycraft universe, where some new twink is trying to decide whether to play a new FC and decides against it because a GF FC has a 36 health libram and 2 extra Stam from seal of sylvanis. In the real world people that want to win deal with it. Non factors make excuses and try to manipulate the rules to make everyone wear the same gear, use the same classes (omg ban ferals waaaaaaass) and play the same strat.

If you want to win, learn to deal with it and adapt. If 60 extra health of 5 extra spellppwer make you wanna rage quit then do us all a favor and gtfo. Because the whiners that resulted in so many rules before are a big part of the problems this bracket has had over time. Go develop your own advantages instead of trying to bring everyone else down to your level.

Easy to say when you have GF'd gear. Every slight thing makes a difference, especially 20 int enchants. Are you ok with people using level 60 satchel gear and other higher level stuff?

Nobody has a 20 int enchant. But regardless I'm ok with using any non exploited gear/enchant. If you've got a lvl 65 satchel gear piece equipped and it works, you should be banned by blizzard.

I'm missing plenty of GF gear and plenty of toons that will be starting on all three MYT teams have absolutely no GF gear as they are recent rerolls. A guild like SR will absolutely out GF us. This is about the essence of twinking and what's the right thing to do, not about trying to get an advantage.

Only thing fair by forum trolls definition is same everything - same strat, same gear, same classes, same hp, same everything. Pardon me if that's not a game I have the least interest in playing nor does anyone I know.

Same gear available= skill wins

two identical cars racing. The best driver wins

Well apparently racing fans and drivers the world over disagree because they sure aren't racing in the same cars!

Making excuses does more harm to the person making them than to the people they're making them against. Excuses offer you a crutch to use as an excuse to not get better. Throw that crutch away and you may be surprised that you're no longer worried about GF gear, people using different strategies, or *shock of all shocks* people playing this game differently than you think it should be played.

good lord u people are stupid sometimes lmao... ban every item that someone cbf obtaining, immediately, it's the only way!

Ban all old boe deadmines pls they're too op and not right for the tourn0mentz

Maybe I have different goals for the Twink Cup than everyone else. I hope that this year's TC, Twitter, and in-game promoters will finally bring twinking into the mainstream. Maybe then, Blizzard will wake up and see that it could be a major hit, and instill some balance at low levels. A pie-in-the-sky hope to be sure.

Most people who play this game want at least the ability to work towards BiS. If the TC can capture someone's attention enough to intrigue them into looking into making a twink, I don't want them to be discouraged because they can never obtain BiS gear.

Having gear equitability is just an added bonus.

I have a druid with only seal of wrynn because I couldn't play horde because you could only have alliance or horde on 1 server. you don't bitch cause don't have that gear, you move on and try your best. being a better player will always outweigh that 3 intellect or 2 stamina you could have got from factioning x number of years later when it got released that you could faction and getting the other shit. Either way if you don't play cause you can't get a specific item that barely holds meaning anymore then you probably should just go play 29s or some shit.

just remembered you have a 29 guild donteven, no shots fired.

No worries m8. I don't have a 29s guild. It's just me :p

Why allow it for the TC when it could be a deterrent for people on the fence about twinking? I just don't see the benefit.

If anything, it will probably show newer tinkers that you don't need gf gear to win. There are plenty of players who don't have gf gear that are absolutely great players. As long as commentators don't put any emphasis on it mid game, new players probably won't even know anyway. I feel like it's a slap in the face of veterans and it's not very respectful of yourself in the public eye saying that you're at a disadvantage because of 2 or 3 stamina/int when you could quite easily just raise the bar on your own level of play.

You should really play a few weeks of 19s to fully understand the topic you are discussing. GF'd gear does not make that big of a difference. It's peoples characters that they have spent a ton of time on, and if they worked for the GF'd gear they should be able to enjoy the benefits of it and use it.

I'm not assuming it will get traction during the event, that wouldn't make any sense. But start poking around armories, find items that can't be obtained, then see that those items are allowed for TC. It's a turn off, however major or slight you want to make it. Let's turn them on! Get the people goin!

I do get it, Superstylin. It doesn't matter for game outcomes! (Well marginally it does, but for arguments sake, I'm willing to pretend it doesn't). If the goal is not gear equitability and the recruitment advantages that comes with it, but rather rewarding legacy twinks for their continued support, then sure, allow it
