10s

Hey gang will be trying out a lower lvl 10, ive always done 19s - 60 and everything in between. Trying something new to me, just curious if anyone know what bis would be? Could possibly point me in the right direction?

Ive been finding nice gear on the ah for dirt cheap another reason for the making of a 10

Few days ago, i have OWSOM idea about 9&10 twinks. For WSG and kill lowbies in Elvin.. Stacking +nature/shadow/fire and others suffixes on gear of amazing Glass cannon build with huge potential. Ideas about Flamecaller shaman(10), Primaldruid of thorns/moon/life (9/10), Shadow dmg Vampire rogue (10 with cloth +sh dmg suffixes, double Lifestealing enchant), Arcane NElf Priestess of Moon (10).
After making notes, colecting list of gear, quests, what u can and cannot get, then i ask Melderon on his discord about spell coeficients, i watch that video, but dont know what math is behind each spell. He give me a Reddit threath and what i saw just ruined all my visions. And i discovered also thing called "under lvl20 penality".. Spell coeficient for chars under 20 have even worse power gain from spell power, because their spell have faster cast => less gain from SP..
For example and why my plans fall down: Shaman can achiev without any chants +20 fire spell dmg via gear (22 with using staff instead dagger) and Flame Shock and Flametonque have just 10% spell coeficient, thats +2dmg. Searing totem have fukin 8%. So nothing really gamebreaking. +shadow dmg don't affect weapon chants at all (NO SP FOR BOOST ANY WEAPON PROC ENCHANTS) and thorns (idea was 6+24nature spell dmg.. Seems fun saw how lvl 9rogue burn himself from thorns) havent gain any SP bonuses at all too.

So what say to end?
I'll definetly still do majority of classes and will testing their viability as 9/10.. But most powerfull will be agility based classes.. In bg hunter (hasnt suffer with missing AA as back line) maybe some healer.. But stack stam / main stats.. Spell dmg isnt really thing for us sadly. And casters will suffer with ressist on 19' a lot.

The major problem with 10 is XP, or more to point the lack of it. It's literally impossible to get BiS due to how much XP you will gain with the long Chain Quests to get several items (Horde, Alliance has shit rewards for 10). The Isha Awak Chain alone might itself not even be possible. Sure there are a few LvL 10 BoE's that are very nice, but it's the Chain rewards that make 10's so powerful. I've got all mine created and sitting at LvL 1 until I have the time to test everything out and write a new Guide. It's going to be a while though, gotta have higher level Toons to fund them 1st.

Second, @Crystalpall may be correct, I haven't seen anything about 10's in Classic that shows me superior Stat scaling than 11-19. However, there is one benefit and it's the same reason I original Twinked 10. You will not show up on Armory until 10, and if your Account gets jacked, Blizz won't do jack shit about any losses on Toons levels 1-9. At least at 10+, Blizz will reinstate what the hackers took.

I'm quite interested in a level 10 twink. I've always enjoyed being a unique snowflake so the challenge of competing against 19s can be fun, however the driving factor for me at the moment would be that dueling on a 10 is typically more interesting than 19 (in my own opinion). So it'd be a fun thing to do for the 6 months or so until phase 3.

The trouble, as someone else mentioned, is many of the best pieces of gear unlock at level 10. This doesn't give you enough experience to acquire the items you need.

It's not a nice round number, but you can get all of the gear if you expand the level cap to 12 instead. I'm thinking I might make one just for dueling around crossroads for a little fun. Take a look at what I've thrown together and see what you think:

Without the super scaling 10's had during WotLK (and maybe TBC, can't remember) going to 12 over 10 so you can get all the sweet extra Gear might be worth it purely for Dueling. For WSG, at least from what I can tell so far, there's no reason not to push to 19.

EDIT: Just looked at your setup, you cannot get those Shoulders until 15, even though you can wear them lower. The Glowing Shard requires 15 to start. Also, if you look at it, those Stats are f'ing terrible (Gear alone) so it'll be interesting to see what we can achieve with full Phase 4+ Enchants.

EDIT 2: Make sure you add the Engineering items like the Helm and the Trinkets, until you can get AGM(s).

EDIT 3: There will be VERY few Classes worth it sub 19 due to how poorly the few Abilities they have scale with Stats. I'm not convinced Shaman will be one of them tbh.

EDIT 4: Also bear in mind, there is NO Hit Rating for super low Level Toons in Classic since all the +Hit is on higher level Gear and not Enchants. Maybe an Arcanum will have +Hit down the road but until then, a 10 is going to miss miss miss against 19 in Duels.

Ah thanks for the pick up on those shoulders.
As for the rest of the character, the stats are pretty mediocre but not bad for unenchanted I think. I didn't put it on but you can also get green tinted goggles I suppose. Do you know for sure that you can get the staff I threw in there? I seem to remember rogues could get the sword from the same quest so I believe so. The swing damage is pretty high.

There's definitely no point for WSG in being sub-19 but we probably have 4-6 months to kill until then.

I'm 100% positive that the Crescent Staff and Wingblade as well as entire Isha Awak chain are completable on a Level 10, though you won't stay LvL 10 by the time you finish them.

Damn, thanks guys for all the input.
Me and a friend will still play around with this idea!

It does suck not being able to get the best quest items but i guess we will see how it goes xp wise?

Really im looking for something different to do when i get bores of grinding classic.

Me and a buddy will be trying out duel lvl 10 warriors to possibly do wpvp.

Even if you can't get too much of the gear due to experience limitations, you can at least get either Cresent Staff or Wingblade and only be about 1/3rd of the way in to the level.

Both would work brilliantly on a warrior - you would hit like a truck.

Awesomee!! Well you know we will deffinitly be trying it! Thanks again for all the input, theres always people hating on wanting to be different :p

Let me know how you get on. It'd be interesting to see how much gear you can get together.

Here's a couple of reference 10s that I ran during TBC. Rating 10 Warrior, Strawhat 10 Rogue

I believe you should only need to quest for weapon, boots, ring and trinket. I'm pretty sure that Wingblade was the only one that requires lvl 10 to begin so it shouldn't be any trouble at all to remain 10. I know we can't get anywhere near the stats that you can from TBC but I'm interested to see what can be achieved through vanilla. I've got an old video of me playing on these guys if there's any interest too.

10s are easy to make in vanilla, just corpse run everything and die every pack @ WC
I know you mean well, but it's 100% impossible to obtain BiS for LvL 10 due to how much XP you gain from Quest turn ins that cannot be avoided in any way. Beyond that, and unless Blizz changes scaling which I think wasn't until WotLK pre-patch, 10's aren't going to do shit against a 19 due to no available Hit Rating at that level. Further from that, even with max Vanilla Enchants (some aren't even available yet) you won't get a Rogue to 100% Dodge, a Warrior/Paladin/Bear to the 75% Armor cap, any Healer with multiple thousands for Bubble/Heals, etc.

So 10's are going to take Crushing Blows from even 13's at a much higher rate all while we sit there and watch the Combat text scroll "Miss, Resist, Miss, Miss, Resist" etc. This is coming from probably the most steadfast 10 Twinker here, I don't see them being viable in Classic.
