Twentified 9.2.5 Patch Notes

Youre gonna love mop classic.

That's definitely never gonna happen. MoP was one of the most hated expansions for many. It brought a lot of terrible changes that was the true end of a great game.

I'd like them to continue on with WotLK Classic with new content would be their best bet. Similar talent trees just even more points you can use to theorycrafting something fun. Continue the game at it's high point. It could be a huge win for Blizz if they did this.

rise of importance of rated arenas

Arena and Esports killed PvP in this game and it's full potential. At no point should any PvP balance be for that silly little boring deathmatch. PvP's focus should be on objective based larger scale battles and WPvP for MMO's. They really got greedy and got it wrong. I just wish they would cancel the AWC and focus on making the game actually great.

Dude you sound like you shouldn't be playing this game.

Me? In what context? I play Retail usually 1 patch per expansion the last several expansions. Maybe a couple months a year since it's downfall in MoP. (exceptions was WoD) SL is unplayable though which is why I started Twinking. I haven't played consistently max level since WoD when Prot wasn't gutted yet and we had Glad stance to 1 shot people with Shield Slam which was fun. I had a blast making BG montages with Glad 1 shotting. WoD got a lot of hate but it was a great PvP expansion.

I do hope they can just make retail like the old game again when it was good and maybe people will actually play the game again in Dragonflight. Until then it's a bad game. SL is the worst expansion ever released for any MMO and the Devs should be embarrassed by it. What a total dumpsterfire.

They need to bring back old game philosophies or the game will never be good. (I think they are trying to do that with Talent trees) At least we got WotlK Classic coming if it doesn't work out though.

You just seem to romanticise an expansion that was 13 years ago. I also like it but what you're describing is a whole different game. This won't come back. Almost all decisions the dev team made were to fix certain problems. Wotlk talent trees weren't a great feature. The meaningful choices were only a few. The majority was things like +1% dmg etc.

I mean of course. That is the last time the game was great.

There were a few patches that were fun so I came back for them then left. I cherry pick fun. If the game is bad I don't play then come back when it looks interesting.

It needs to come back or this game is doomed and will never recover from it's horrible situation it currently is in. I do think Blizz realizes this and their failed design philosophies of modern WoW. They had the perfect game design in the past and got off track by trying to keep up with the jones. Blizz literally killed WoW themselves which is a shame.

Wotlk talent trees weren't a great feature.

Gonna disagree, Talent trees are required or this game won't be good. With that said I can agree on some of the Talents could of been better. However the Talent Tree system is a must to allow build diversity to create something to fit your play style. The problem with Cata talent trees was trying to push players into a specific direction and lack of points/options. TBC/Wrath had the best talent trees. Hope DF can do better.

The Devs job is to create something awesome then get out of the way of the players. The players should be showing the Devs how to play the game and creating new ways to play the Devs never even thought of. That is "IF" they do a great job.

Guys... guys... Hunters are the real problem, healers are fine.

... Are they though?

This is one of those things where I both really like arena but also agree. PVP in an MMO definitely feels like it should be balanced around bigger team BGs and not arena. Though, I would like arena to be somewhat balanced lol.

This is part of why i like twinking is that historically, the community is fairly good about taking balance into our own hands in organized play.

It's definitely a tough one. I mean Arena should be there to do cause it could be fun to do a Deathmatch type game. However it doesn't work for this type of game and you can't balance the Classes around Arena, it's literally impossible. Despite them attempting with dampening and tons of modifiers. Which broke the rest of the game.

Arena should be casual fun and not competitive. Just something else to do. BGs is where the true strategy and competition is. Besides most PvP players do BGs and have no interest in Arena.

Absolutely! There just is no doubt about this and the class design is for this. Trying to take classes that shouldn't be in Arena and balance them for that type of minigame will never work and it hasn't worked. They should just stop.

Just have solo Que let people have fun in there like they do with Dueling. However don't worry about balance that much. Since all that matters is BG and WPvP balance. The game would of been a much better success.

The bracket is fine guys.
Only thing that kicks it out of balance is when ppl que too many of the same op class. But like, we have a bracket were all healer speccs are good, some better then others ofc, and tons of dps classes to pick inbetween. Plus gearing has so many options. Its okay guys, its okay.

Yeah whatever. Good luck trying to have fun.

I always have fun. That's what brought me to Twinking, to have some fun. If it isn't fun just stop and do something else is my motto. Like when I que into premades or a bunch of healers. I just leave and find another BG since that won't be fun. That's how you fight The Good Fight! Always winning!

On a side note they shouldn't allow more than 3 healers or 3 of any class on a team. That would fix BGs in a massive way. I rather wait in Que and get a more balanced comp then allow Class stacking. Maybe it would get rid of hunters too since they have to wait for an hour in Que.

I'm saying that none of what you say make any sense. You think from the pov of a 20 pvper who hasn't played enough to know how the bracket works. Completely ignoring all other aspects of the game and the majority of wow players who don't share your opinion. Blizzard aren't retarded, they try to please the majority of players. Sometimes it doesn't happen as intended like in the begining of SL and most of BFA but the majority of times they're spot on with changes. You just don't seem to understand the reasoning behind them.

Yea they are. So retarded they get drunk at work harassing each other putting out terrible games. That is why this company has been failing year after year. They lost touch with everything and most importantly the players. Blizz is in fact pretty stupid to mess up a great thing this bad.

No I don't. I think from the POV of a gamer that started playing Activision games 22 years ago. That has over 3 decades of gaming experience. It's easy to know what is a good gaming decision and what is a bad one. Activision has failed due to bad decision making and leadership.

Sometimes it doesn't happen as intended like in the begining of SL and most of BFA but the majority of times they're spot on with changes. You just don't seem to understand the reasoning behind them.

No one understands the reason behind Blizz idiotic changes that is why most of the player base has moved on and quit. The last 2 expansions were trash. That is a factual statement. Blizz has been putting out extremely bad products completely detached from it's players that is souless and void of fun. That is why the company is suffering and is being bought for a discount price. Not sure if Microsoft can fix everything wrong with Blizzard because that is asking a lot. However Activision and the countless mistakes they have made has made this bed they now have to lay in.

Yes lets hope Blizzard can fix WoW and get back on track next expansion and finally put out a good game again. It's been way to long. /fingers crossed

One of the cool things I noticed:

  • “Some abilities are critical to my rotation—will that mean I always have to build a certain way?”
    • No. The most basic building blocks of your rotation will tend to be either learned from levels 1-10, awarded automatically in the class tree, or placed at the top of your spec tree as a first point spent in that tree. In other cases, major abilities that we expect to be a part of most builds will be near the start of a tree, or on an easily accessible path so that they don’t constrain your other choices.

This means most classes might get most of their core rotation pre-20. It seems this is the case with druids as they get pretty much every important ability early.

Wow there are a ton of new abilities druids/dks can get from that preview

Oh wait. It says '8 points required' just below the 4th row. Does that mean we can't go below the 4 th row with our 6 points? :<

ooo dk's can get
Permafrost: Your auto attack damage grants you an absorb shield equal to 40% of the damage dealt.
That's awesome for dual wielding those haste proc weapons.
