so no these two circumstances are very different in every relevant way. Please don't make things up.

is it not true that you decided to make xpoff because of the lack of involvement on TI from Myrm?
is it not true that Arkte has always thought you're lacking involvement on XPOff now?

is it not true that you only involved Myrm as part of the deal for access to the database of old content?
is it not true that Arkte and Stab only stole the database for the old content?

the only difference in these two circumstances is one was illegal scumminess and the other was pressured scumminess.

Myrm was fucked over by Shane in the purchasing of TI, and he was distant from the community as a result of this.
You saw this as an opportunity to get 'important figures' in the community to side with you while you staged a coup, you paid $1000 for the 'deal' of getting TI's database and forcing Myrm to make TI redirect to XPOff, you threatened to open your site regardless and Myrm didnt want to split the community so he felt pressured into making the deal.

literally the only difference is the $1000 deal, and im 99.99999% sure if stab/arkte offered you $1000 for legal use of the database you'd snatch it out of their hand faster than you can say 'xpoff is dead'

It's all about motive to me, I did what I did for the community, Arkte and stab want fame and to bring traffic to a private server.

This is a pattern of behavior for both of them, arkte tried to do this a few months ago, and stab has articles about him scamming people all over the internet.

but the problem is your motive now isnt community or twinks, you only ever log in to this website when something is compromising your $$$

the last 4 times you were actively posting on this site was

1. Making your pserver to milk $$$ and fund your esports organizations
2. Taking the site down multiple times and reopening it to sell it/opening donations to pay monthly bills
3. When Arkte took the discord and accused you of stealing money
4. This situation

This is a pattern of behavior for you.

you have no respect or sympathy here, except from your staff.

if they werent your staff i wonder how many of them would have a different view.

the only thing you've done for this site worth mentioning is running one successful tournament, there's only so long people can hold you in high regard for that, it's coming to the end of it.

every idea and choice made since then has been a disaster, this is yet another one that's your fault.

this site is becoming a joke with how often shit like this happens, and yes that's all on you.

if selaya wasnt here to save your ass every single time this site wouldve been dead well over a year ago

I don't think this is something we will agree upon, as long as this site is available to people as a means of finding information about twinking, I'm a happy camper, if you think money is the motive here than you're silly, what I make from XPOFF ads is minuscule and always has been completely inconsequential, would I be happy if I made more? sure, do i think its worth more than a passing thought, no.

The issue at hand is the owner of said property wasn’t offered money and people took property without permission. That makes them thieves. And since the property value was so high in this case it is considered a felony. Also, since personal information was stolen it could be construed as ID theft perhaps.

Now, if we could fire up that time machine and offer the property owner some cash we might know the answer to your speculation.

This is the last time I will use my xpoff account.

I have been an active member of the F2P community dating back to 2011 and I am so sick of this ridiculous drama that has been created by you, the owners/staff, of this website. You continuously fail to bring the community together because you're so caught up in personal BS. This website has lost so many threads and contributions because of downtime and poor back ups. It's gotten old very quickly. And the excuses are even more pathetic - it feels like kids playing the blame game.

My time with this community is over and truthfully I don't think this site will last.

I have to somewhat agree with @Imnotabelf . Every few months there’s management/ownership drama and shady figures come and go. If there’s money problems, I understand a bit of downtime, but it’s not just that.

In just half a year we’ve had weeks of downtime, server migrations which failed, staff fights, forum hijack, daily rule changes and what not. I’m sure some of the mods and admins try really hard to help this community and keep everything going, but all these things wouldn’t happen with proper management.

Now we lost half a year full of content and features, because the owner didn’t even bother to backup its stuff every so often. And this all happened because the owner trusted someone who, according to what I read here, isn‘t even trustworthy.

I like the twinking community but this drama is the worst I’ve ever seen on a website and it’s silly that a community like this is split this way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at some point in 2017, didn't Conq try to get rid of his ownership and sell the site only to have to take it back in order to keep it going with the help of the community? Who was it that was running the site then? I can't seem to remember......

If you're replying to me. No, I will not use either site going forward.

Perhaps people will start using the official Blizzard forums then for lowbie content. Or even put posting content on WoWhead as a matter of fact. I would be completely satisfied with either.
Just let me know where it is.

Many of the issues can be attributed to the maturity levels(not indicative of age BTW) of a few of the people involved.

Reading some of these comments is sickening... Twinkinfo/XPoff, for me, has been where hundreds of us could get together to inform/help/meet new and old twinks alike. Back in the day, this was the only place we could discuss topics related to twinking and meet new friends, because if two twinks were seperated by a battlegroup- they wouldnt ever see each other. For me, this site has always been about growing our community and being the “one stop shop” for twinks intent on improving their gear, making friends, joining guilds, or selling twink items. The toxicitity from some of you is threatening something that some of us have been involved with for 10ish years... why?

I realize the site has not been stable, and recent events are discouraging. No one in this community is perfect. I am sure @Conq has made his mistakes... i have seen many people come and go from twinking in the last decade. People have life changes, jobs, kids, etc... The fact that Conq is no longer active in our brackets but is still willing to try and keep this site together is enough for me to stick around. Conq and his staff do not “make” this community- WE do. This community has trived because many of you have posted relevant threads in your respective brackets promoting discussion. This is what makes new players want to join our brackets.

This.

They went about it the wrong way.

Make a competitive website, ehm, sure, it splits the community, but that's anyones prerogative to do so. To do it in the way they did it though? No thank you. I would rather not be a part of that and I don't think anyone else should either.

@Conq Thank you for seeing to the survival of the site. Having a place to meet is very important for any community!

____________
To everyone else:

The money a site like xpoff makes is peanuts to anyone with serious know how. If Conq were worried about the money he wouldn't be so chill and relaxed.

I for one am happy the URL stays the same and we can keep meeting and having a good time. It's nice having a community of people to come back to, even if half of them are away from the game on breaks at any given time ;)

And yes I was around for the last move, drama happens to small communities but our love shared love for the game is what matters :) Long live xpoff!

We have only had four staff member departures in the past year. Three of which are admins currently running the phony website, while two of those said admins had malicious intentions for the website, and the perhaps unintended consequences on the community as a whole.

For the past four months utilizing Stabatha's hosting services, the ad revenue alone was enough to keep the website running. Most downtime was on his Stabatha's end, as well as not providing certain staff members access to the database in order to be able to create backups. A few reasons I can think of that he provided was one instance he had to move servers, another he was making updates, then had trouble with updating, and most times he wouldn't get back to staff on certain issues for long periods of time. Based off research, this was a common issue his clients faced when using his hosting services in the past.

Mistakes were made by letting this individual on our team and it's something the administration is determined to never let happen again.

As Head of Moderation, it was my goal to work with both members and the staff to ensure that rules were fair and moderation was unbiased. An issue the forums had prior to me coming on board was admins banning people left and right for what should have been warnings or temporary bans. This is something that has been successfully tackled I'd say.

Conq has definitely made mistakes, there's no doubt about it. The staff call him out on them too. His attempts at trying to sell the website, monetize it, as well as his widely disliked plans that he had for the website, were quickly shot down. As Sela said:

It already wasn't the most popular Conqthing ever even within the staff to begin with, and after some discussing, thinking-through and sleeping-over-it this was definitely ditched for good.

The community and the staff expressing their opinions is what led to Conq abandoning them. Also, this is the reason why he distanced himself from the forums.

It was us speaking up that preserved the website and prevented it from changing into something we didn't want it to be.

Until what happened recently, the website was in a decent spot.

What Stabatha did was unwarranted and was ultimately an attack on the community he claimed to be rescuing.

Aside from that, i'll be consulting a lawyer within the next few days and plan to go through with legal action since this is intellectual property theft from Myrm and myself exceeding 10 grand in previous market value, a felony. My understanding is that many lawyers will consider this an easy win, and jump at the chance to take the case.

As your attorney, I advise you to take a hit out of the little brown bottle in my shaving kit. You won't need much, just a tiny taste.

Am I the only one that thinks conq deserves to get paid?

Twinkinfo was in a bad position for a reason and the whole community wanted change and we love the change we got.
This is a different situation, the whole community was not in a uproar, these guys just stole content for their own purpose.
Conq put time and worked into this site, is it so wrong for him to ask for an amount for his ownership? At least he is giving someone else the responsibility, unlike Myrm who was just inactive, period. (Not attacking myrm he has obviously done great for the community in the past)
Not to mention conqs honest care and contributions for twinks and the community in the past and humbleness to actually allow myrm to continue being an owner. I truly think we would of changed to xpoff regardless if we had the database from twinkinfo.
You really gotta look at this from a human perspective and put yourself in conqs shoes.
