Is XPOff being deliberately killed?

It's not a difficult concept, it's just not a good one. Censorship to that level is not seen on any gaming forum, anywhere. Being a dick and talking shit is a part of the game, simply put, especially being twinks.

None of you would survive for more than a week talking this toxic on Wowhead or Ownedcore.

That's absolutely the kind of thing that kills communities and drives people away from it.

Supporting the notion of being a rude and nasty person is asinine. I've been playing this since release, and MMOs for years before it. The biggest thing that I've seen drive people away is a toxic community.

How on earth to you consider it a good thing to be an ass to people?

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Don't lump me into a group of people. I have never been toxic, I can look from the outside in and see how ridiculous some of these bans are. Also "toxic" is subjective, which means you're leaving the punishment up to the judgement of a mod who is almost always biased in these situations.

I didn't say it was a good thing, I just said it was a thing, always has been and always will be. Where do you draw the line? At some point you're just going to be punishing people for being competitive.

You can be competitive without being childish and attacking people. Trolling and such, and what have you.

A good place to draw the line? Support a community. Rally against those who try to tear it down.

I'm not trying to lump you into this group, I'm just saying I think we should work together to try and make a welcoming community.

This seems to be the status quo sadly. When I or someone else brings up a subject of concern in a respectful manner, the response is very similar to what we see here in this thread; "Don't be a toxic dbag," "Here we go again," etc. OR alternatively as we see in this thread as well, the admins choose not to respond, but instead "like" the disrespectful posts pointed at the OP and anyone who is in agreement. If you look at my original post, this is about the unnecessary use of power over regular posters by the new admins here, and my opinion about the current state of the site. Before the site staff decided to turn it into a "how not to get banned/be toxic" thread, and belittle the attempt to have a genuine conversation about something I see as a growing problem. I was not disrespectful in my post, I just got straight to the point. I used to be a mod here, I conduct myself as such as I always have, I was involved in the transition of Twinkinfo to XpOff and want the see the website succeed going forward.

The responses seen from the staff IN THIS THREAD is EXACTLY the kind of behavior I am worried about, and the reason I posted in the first place. Just because you are staff and do not agree with something, does not mean you can silence people or just lump them in with other, as you call it, "toxic" people.

I could go on, not going to at this time, the purpose of my original posting sadly is already diluted, mostly by the very people who say they are "going into the new era."

What a shame.

please dont ban me for this constructive criticism (im currently trying to sell my account here, once its sold feel free to ban me )

1st : there is a difference between being a dick and being ironic/sarcastic (eventhough i agree its sometime hard to distinguish if you cant see the persons face (atleast if they dont use emojis), but some cases in which people got banned were so obvious..

2nd: staff bans indeed without justification, i got a warning because i posted a meme of clinton dabbing (in which way is that toxic or offensive(lol)? then i got a 2weeks ban because i pointed out how conq/xpoff staff promoted a project which was doomed to fail (cata 19server) where some people lost several hundred euros. people literally wasted money because you hyped them while hoping it makes xpoff.com more attractive - generating more money

3rd: dont get offended by every single world you dont like. i know getting triggered by nearly everything is super hip in 2017, however it wont help you

Legion twinks are stale.
Says who? 19s?
Twinks love drama.
Says who? 19s?
Admins and mods don't like drama.
Says who? 19s?

I'm tired of seeing the "mouths" on this site bitch and moan about over moderation. Almost every single time I see a thread like this it's made from someone from 19s who is a known nuisance. Honestly if this site simply removed just a handful of people the activity would probably be cut in half but the rude/toxic behavior would be cut by 90%.

Can mods go a tad ban-happy? Of course. They already did recently, and they owned up to it. I am sure the majority of the site would prefer to rebuild a community than to stick with one thats rotting from the inside out. That is what is happening, deal with it.

XPOFFs only issues right now is that the user base isn't generating events and loads of content like it has in the past, everything else is people not being able to put their finger on the issue so defaulting blame to those in charge, statistical metrics are all in check, emotions and critical thinking not so much, no disrespect to OP but it seems unbundantly clear to me.
Not having any drama is a better reason for this site dying out the last few weeks. After being on this site for so long you should know drama is a part of twinking to keep things fun/exciting and it includes being toxic to each other. I've said this before, if you really wanna punish toxicity so new players feel more welcome here, then you should punish the people that are being toxic to new players, not old players. The majority of older players wouldn't stop visiting this site, because someone told them "kys".

No, but I'd probably think they are pretty childish and moronic for that sort of behavior.

And I'd prefer to have a drama free site and gaming experience. I believe most who are not still in highschool would expect that.

Also, there seems to be this idealogical among veterans of TI that we should be more or less grandfathered to rules, and get away with whatever we want.

That's absurd.

Actually that's exactly what the fuck it means lol. They are mods, bound to enforcing the rules set out by the owners that want to foster a certain type of community. Their personal views are irrelevant. If you do not like the direction the community is going you are welcome to leave said community and start your own.

You pay for the server, the coding, you run it how you think it should be run. Let's see how you feel when people join that don't want to abide by your rules and try and toxically ruin it.

There's nothing wrong with a group of like-minded individuals that want to discuss their interest that aren't interested in pre-teen garbage. This is not a government, its a community that's going in a very specific direction.

Not a personal attack, just how it works.

I mean, what you are referencing is completely irrelevant to what I personally, am talking about. But I do agree its a community and not a goverment. Which is the problem in my opinion. The new admins want to be the government.

It's not about being grandfathered to the rules as an old player, but these rules are pretty much enforced to welcome new players into twinking so at least you could let older players call each other w/e they want and if someone like yourself had a problem with it they could still report it. Just flat out banning people for being toxic to someone else that doesn't mind the toxicity is not worth a ban. Just because these delusional mods don't find it appropriate, doesn't mean it should get banned.
