whats better sub or combat? and should I use x2 shadowfang or shadowfang MH and boa d

Re: whats better sub or combat? and should I use x2 shadowfang or shadowfang MH and b

God, absolutely nobody has a single clue about BiS or theorycrafting these days.. you need to prove your points to claim one thing is better than another. its 5:30am here but i'll break it down for you.

You either dual wield fangs or dual wield heirloom swords, each is better in different situations but that is all a matter of ones preference so i will give you guys some cold hard numbers.

Shadowfang has 0.38 more DPS than the heirloom sword. Shadowfang has 2 more agility than the heirloom sword. Shadowfang as a proc for 30 damage that isn't really worth factoring as its an RNG stat, and in consistant math you can't add variables like procs into it. Atleast this early on in calculation and seeing as this is just an overall summary i will not be delving into that.

Heirloom sword has 4 more stamina, 3 more crit than shadowfang.

Dual wielding either weapon in each hand goes as follows: 6 Crit rating (2.16% crit), 8 Stamina (152 HP) VS 4 Agility (4 Attack Power), 0.38 DPS (main hand as that is what matters, cba to calculate the not even noticable 0.12 DPS off the offhand) and ofcourse the shadow bolt procs.

In a normal PvP situation, a rogue will not have longer than 5-8 seconds on a target before either the rogue is peeled by snares / CC or the rogue has to play defensive as he/she is dying. DPS is a factor that can only be calculated effectively with 100% uptime (Time on Target), which in this situation counter factors the shadowfangs 0.38% DPS increase over the heirlooms. In this situation what matters is window of burst opportunity (which is anywhere between 2-5 seconds) and this duration of time is a very normal amount of uptime for a rogue to have in a usual PvP situation and in this situation burst is more important than overall DPS. the 2% crit chance helps yes, but with the amount of crit chance that rogues have is 2% really gonna consistantly be the gamebreaking stat?

The one and the ONLY reason that heirlooms are considered BiS over shadowfangs is for the 152 HP increase as the stat priority for a rogue is Stamina=Crit > Agility/AP > Haste. This basically means that statistically for an all around fight, especially with a healer that the heirlooms are more noob friendly as less experienced players tend to rely more on a higher health pool than a skilled player, but then again a high HP rogue in the hands of a skilled player can in some cases be more devastating than a higher AP less HP rogue in the same players hands.

Also one more thing, after doing hours of recount testing i have PROVEN that Shadowfang's average Hemo, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate AND Ambush consistantly do more damage than that of the heirloom weapon. Not by much, but over a long period of time it will make a difference.

If you guys are looking for an old owls wisdom, my advice would be that in a short game the heirloom swords are superior, but in a game that can last longer than a minute the shadowfangs will come out on top.

I hope this clears things up for people, i will more than likely not ever look at this thread again so if you wanna talk or reply to me you're gonna need to quote me.

Re: whats better sub or combat? and should I use x2 shadowfang or shadowfang MH and b

The only reason I see why people say BoA being better than SF is because they dont have it, or they cant afford them. Its the BvB debate all over again.

If you go by what Rusk is saying, with poisons and hemo procing EF which gives sustainable off-target damage if they are full of bleeds/poisons, SF would be better than BoA. Reason being is that the shadow damage from the sword procs EF as well, giving you even more EF procs (youd have to do the math to see if that extra ~150 proc does more damage than that "1.01% CRIT AND 4 STAM and omg ambush dmg")....

and yeah. swag

I still don't see why people still argue with you...... Also from a personal experience fangs have a better burst than boa swords because if u get a proc from a fang it causes more pressure.... and whoever said fangs proc less i say BS because it seemed to me it procs as often as it did if not more

Re: whats better sub or combat? and should I use x2 shadowfang or shadowfang MH and b

the difference is literally unnoticeable, use whatever you can get easiest

Re: whats better sub or combat? and should I use x2 shadowfang or shadowfang MH and b

Been testing things out and I get most out of everything as combat with MH: SF & Balanced Heartseeker in OH both with EF

Re: whats better sub or combat? and should I use x2 shadowfang or shadowfang MH and b

I think crit is best atm but I wont give up the procs on the Shadowfangs. To much extra burst and even the procs are proccing EF. I go full crit gear + fangs and play combat just because ss hits harder then hemo, although I do like the energy regen that silce and dice provides via sub. Still think combat is more bursty.

Your telling me Stamina is the most important rogue stat, but that they should try to gear to do the most burst in 2-5 seconds? lol.
