if they brought back rated arenas at 70, what comps do you think would be strong in the current patch. I have a feeling that 79s would either play their 70's more, or level a new one.

Disc mage, disc rogue, rogue mage, disc enhance, enhance mage, rogue enhance. In roughly that order.
Anything with a mage or a disc can be toptier, probably

Not sure how it'd stand with todays meta, but Shadow Priest / Mistweaver was my favorite comp back in this brackets day. Very rewarding to play & went against the grain. There would be so many more options now though...Back then it was clutch tazic shockers + prot disc

I remember the 70 RM days. We played with no Tazics and got to 2.3. Around that point it was only double tazik disc mage you'd encounter.

Now though... Basically what dreams said, but also factoring in SPs and r druids ( to an extent CC > heal throughput in 70 arena imo).

I think rogue+healer teams are really good at countering rogue mage (or any double dps).

I've played quite a lot of 2v2 and 3v3 wargames with healers this expansion, with and against various comps. In my experience so far resto druids are easily the worst healers. Way too vulnerable to dying in a single setup compared to every other healer.

Of course if any resto druids here disagree I'd love to test it out!

Of course if any resto druids here disagree I'd love to test it out!

i agree that they can counter rm but with shadowy duel and proper cc it should be really easy to win most games, depends on the players in the end

But remember the rogue healer can use shadowy duel as well It's actually insane vs double dps as it pmuch removes all pressure instantly. The problem for rogue mage against rogue healer is that 70 is too fast paced. Normally the strat is to do a setup, stall for 2nd round of DRs, and then kill. But at level 70 you'll simply die before you can do another setup. There's no cloak of shadows so hard resets are impossible too.

Yeah, a comp like R druid war etc would suck, but with a peel-heavy dps like mage or rogue, feral affinity/master shapeshifter resto druid does at least as much burst as a rogue can (WITH a stun from stealth, such a strong opener), so all the dps has to do in a def situation is peel until 1 CC sticks, then the clone into poly/nova/sap/stun chain begins and gg. But you're starting with double stealth openers anyway, so unless facing specifically RM or Mage/SP, you could generally be offensive from the go.

id say demo disc would be a contender as well
