Thoughts on ele shams?

Totally underpowered.

Around "mid-tier" or "a little below mid-tier". While lightning shield stacks now help give some "possible" burst (though with a very long build-up time, around 2 5 combo points worth of build up) and thus another mechanic, ele shaman dps still remains noticeably lower than most other DPSers, though still ahead of enh possibly. Overall, its damage (and real bursts) is mostly RNG, primarily dependent on crits.

Full-stacks without crit usually means about +300 or +350ish damage. Crit means +800 or so due to 2.5x crit damage.

I consider them "mid-tier" or "a little below mid-tier", primarily due to their slightly improved mobility.

Ele sham is like the swiss army knife of the f2p scene.

Well, they always where viable, its just now they have a decent damage rotation and dont have to heal spam, plus fulmination is nice vs anyone and fun.

Also worth thinking about 24 ele shammys.... seems like they could be the new 24 spriests... frost shock and moving LB? Pretty much kite all day.

My main char is an elemental shaman, atm that's the only class you learn mechanics at very low lvl thanks to fulmination and walking LB. Welcome to the elem shaman FotM patch ^^

Totally agreed, but some other guys say they are underpowered which isnt true!!

Shamans probably got the biggest buff in this patch, but it was well deserved, and overdue.

I haven't played on my f2p account for a couple months now. But now that I seen the changes to ele shamans i decided to come back. I hopped on and my first bg back i had the most in damage and killing blows and flag returns. And I also got a cap as well. Can't wait to start playing again :D signed ~ Shampoo

Not sure how people are saying eles are a nice middle ground then crying about how OP hunts are.. If eles aren't OP then neither are hunts.

P.S. both are OP

:( massive exaggeration.

The reason why Ele is a good 'middle ground' is because to me at least they represent what should be in each class.

They have DECENT damage, not nearly op in any aspect, they have a little utility with Tstorm purge and sheer, and they have decent survivability with their heals and talent, which is not very op when it comes to healing. Not to mention they can be very difficult to play with focus purges sheers etc.

Hunters on the other hand have massively overpowered damage without question.
And to go with that they have every utility that every other class has PLUS some that no other classes even have. They have a movement speed decreaser that loops, a movement speed increaser, a stun, a disorient, a DoT, a disarm, a movement utility (disengage), a pet, and a damage increasing debuff. Not to mention that any new player can pick them up and do top damage in a BG.
